Could be one for the future and City tried to poach him with a £11k contract offer, turned them down though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cLcvDnt96o

Gribben has the talent, but is a bit inconsistent by all accounts, though out of his year group it is expected that he'll be given a chance in the League Cup at some point. It was good to see Angel Gomez go with the squad even though he's a year below that lot, he's another who if he continues to progress should join the first team squad at some point, mind he's only 15 at the moment, not 16 till the end of this month. Yikes, it won't be long before we'll be playing players born after we won the treble.

Be interesting to see what we get for Schweinsteiger if he does stay in England. Given the money bounding about wouldn't be shocked if we actually turn over a decent profit on him.
you and me both, my heart is positively pounding with anticipation to find out how much we get for Schweinsteiger, will it be 5 million, will it be 6, or maybe even 7 i have been thinking about it all week, the tension is unbearable...

That's nice. The adults replied maturely, so that's fine. Enjoy yourself.

It is officially confirmed now that McNair and Love have moved to Sunderland.

Take a look at @SunderlandAFC's Tweet: https://twitter.com/SunderlandAFC/st...480611840?s=09

The Times reckon that Everton are still confident of landing Mata.

However, other reports are sticking to the line that we don't want to sell him.

I think Mata's in that gang with Schneiderlin, Fellaini, Herrera and Rojo - players who Mourinho is happy to work with but would probably sell if we receive a bumper sized bid for one of them.

Central midfield is quite bloated now, it'd be a surprise if we didn't get rid of at least one other as well as Schweinsteiger. Hopefully Fellaini.

Would feel a bit sorry for Schneiderlin and Herrera if they were offloaded, having been Van Gaaled for their entire time here.

I can't quite see why Schneiderlin would be sold, he is a top class player, who can offer us so much than what we saw under LvG.

Hi there and welcome to the thread.

As for you question, he was an okay player, nothing too special really, he was in his own way, better going forward then defending I thought, and in the end it was the right and correct decision to sell him.

Could make that argument about most of our players.

As i said in my post, i think he'll get the benefit of the doubt despite being dogsh*t last season. However, if someone put in a big offer i think we'd be tempted, as we have plenty of quality options in that area.

My personal feeling is i'd like to see him get another season with us to show what he can do outwith the shadow of LVG.

We really only have Carrick in his sort of role, as I think Pogba is more of a forward thinking player than he is, so I would definitely keep him around, as Carrick cannot, and most likely will not play in every single game.

No, i think we have others who can fill in for Carrick. I don't view Schneiderlin as a must keep, even though i'd like him to stick around.

Fair enough, unless there is a dramatic turnaround to José thoughts with Schweinsteiger, then keeping Schneiderlin I would be a crucial thing to do.

Can't be described as crucial when there are a range of other options available.

Speaking of the range of options, anyone know what the state of play is regarding Depay? I read Jose has included him in the first team squad but there are rumours he's up for sale as well. I hope not because he's got possibly more potential than any of the others who had the football Van Gaaled out of them.

depay is not going to get much game time really, he'll struggle to get in ahead of martial, mkhitaryan, lingard, rashford. i don't think he'll move this window tho, might go on loan somewhere in january.

Couldn't see anything in him last season, absolute sh*te. Yet another player I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt because LVG was possibly to blame, but I don't hold out much hope. Most probably ship him off to Schalke or somewhere in the new year.
