Southampton have said that Fonte's going nowhere, and Puel has suggested that Mourinho's leaked our supposed interest, in order to unsettle him for Friday's game.

Wouldn't put it past him.”

Jones, just like with Adnan will have to have a very good season on loan (if he does go on loan) to get anywhere near back in the thoughts of the manage one would have thought.

Moving away from the club on loan is not the best of ways to try and get the manager to pick you I think.

As for Fonte, it would be an underhanded tactic by José to get a player, but that is the type of thing I guess he isgood at.
If it ends up with us getting the player, then fair play, if not, then it will not look too favourable on José's part.

If we win the game, particularly if Fonte has a stinker, then it will look very 'favourable' on Mourinho's part, regardless of whether or not we're actually interested in the player.

Winning the game is all that really matters, but if we could get the player as well, that would be an added bonus, as I do think he could help to compliment our current squad.

Pogba has declared that he's ready for tomorrow's game.

Wonder if Mourinho will chuck him in (and Mkhitaryan, for that matter)?

It would be great if he did, under the lights at Old Trafford, it would be a great time to unleash the pair of them!

I'd be surprised if we throw him straight in, he'll probably need a bit of time to get going and Fellaini and Herrera did a good job against Bournemouth so no need to rush him. Reckon we'll be unchanged.

Two tall players in Pogba and Fellaini could work I think, be interesting to see once Pogba is firmly established, who his partner will be.

No Smalling either?

That will be another tough decision to make, as Bailly and Blind did look good together at Bournemouth.

Yes, I know.

I wondered what Zieler's view was, hence me quoting him.

I think Blind and Baiily are both deserving of a starting place.

Feliani is far too messy to play at the top level. Gives away too many fouls, like a Peter Crouch.

I like how well Zlatan has fitted in, you guys should return to champions league next season.

I do like the B & B partnership, they compliment each other very well.

Hopefully we do, it would be great to be back in it again.

I'd completely forgotten he was back from suspension to be honest. In that case, I think we'll make one change with him coming in for Blind. He played well but Smalling is a better defender and Bailly looks fantastic.

Smalling made far more mistakes than Blind last season yet for some reason he is rated as a better defender. Is it because he's English?

I reckon that he might go with Smalling and Blind, so I've managed to disagree with both of you!

As good as Bailly's looked, he's still new to the league, and I think that Mourinho's pragmatism will come the fore, in this one.

I see that Mourinho has indicated that Pogba will definitely get some time on the pitch, although it sounds as if he's unlikely to start.

Pogba will get a great reception coming off of the bench, if that is to be the case.

I would hope to see the continuation of the Bailly and Blind partnership with Smalling on the bench, as they deserve it after doing so well last time out (the goal was not their fault).

Don't think either part of that is true. Smalling made less mistakes than Blind and saved us a lot, especially at the start of the season. He's rated as a better defender because his performances over the last year and a half have generally been excellent.

I dunno if he'll go straight to the pragmatic approach. A home game against a decent team but not world beaters seems like the ideal time to play Bailly. If it was City then Blind should start but I'd stick with Bailly for now.

The press really are crap....Daily Mirror headline.. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...united-8657586

"Jose Mourinho says Manchester United fans are TOO QUIET as he urges Old Trafford support to get behind his side"

Except thats not what he actually said. He just said if away fans are louder then its an issue. Same as if away fans are louder at any ground youd wonder why.

He did not actually say that the fans need to turn it up. Just twisting words to create headlines.

That really is unfair, it would be nice if the newspapers actually reported things that were actually said, rather then what they wanted to be said.

However misrepresented he's been, the articles are not unfair at all.

It's refreshing to finally hear someone call us out.

Our home support has been embarrassing. Apart from 4 or 5 big games a season, it's like a graveyard. And it has been like this for a good few years, not just since SAF retired.

Full of corporate and day trippers.

It's about time people stop sitting on their thumbs and make some noise.

Unfortunately it's the case at the majority of premier league grounds these days... The days when English league crowds were the most passionate and loudest around disappeared some time ago.

Unfortunately you know as a journalist you print what sells papers.
