Looks like Schweinsteiger is not going to play for another European club, so we might have to get used to him being here until the Chinese window opens up again.

America is a better option imo.

Yeah, actually you could be right, especially with his wife and her career, and with there being a fair few tennis tournaments over there.

Tonight is the draw for the next round of the league cup, I missed that when talking about draws, for those that are interested we are ball number 15.

No problems!

I just don't really want City, or Liverpool away, someone like Blackburn at home would do for me.

I think Schweinsteiger is good enough to not be consigned to the MLS retirement home just yet.

Well which non-European club or league do you think he will end up playing in then?

Maybe he could sign for Arsenal

Agreed, He may end up there but he is good enough to not have to right now. Another few years he may have to go there to see out his final years but it would be a waste if he did so now.

Not a lot of other options if he doesn't want to play for another European club.

I'd still rather he stayed with us tbh.

Exactly, the options for him at this late stage are not too wide, I've wants more options then he will have to wait it out until other windows open.

His choice of course, but I do think he's too good to throw his career away just yet.

It is a start I suppose, but it is good to see Januzaj scoring for Sunderland.

Away to Northampton. Bet Mourinho's thrilled.

Not a bad draw really, there was the possibility of far worse.

Could of been worse, could of been Liverpool away or something stupid like that, hopefully we put out a decent team and win the game as Mourinho usually put out strong teams in the League Cup when he was Chelsea manager no matter who the opponent were.

Memphis, Rashford, and some of the others that need game time, this would be a good game for them to prove something to Jose.

Yes, it could have been worse, but I still don't think that Mourinho will be too chuffed.

It's a 'no-win' game, and it's away from home. You're right that Mourinho tends to like that competition, but I wouldn't want to be risking first-team players in that match. Give Schweinsteiger a run out.

He sees it as a stepping stone towards bigger things, so I can see a strong team being put out, more experience, less youth I am thinking.

Yes, I know.

I was explaining what I would do, not what I think Mourinho will do. He'll almost certainly play a stronger team than I would.

I would like to see Mensah get a game, along with Pieriera if he is still here then, but being realistic, it is more likely to be Rooney then the young Brazillian.

Hopefully this means Mkhitaryan will actually be started for a change.
