Great to see United chucking the kitchen sink at a parked bus until the final whistle again, chasing 3 points instead of accepting just 1. Martial out, Rashford in, please and thankyou.

Like old times that. Nothing like a Van Gaal performance at all.

The referee was dreadful. When he wasn't making things up as he went along he was just getting in the way.

Was like watching Utd of old, fighting until the final whistle. Love it!

That first half was more LVG than Jose, It wasn't inspiring football and a lot of possession for not a lot.

I don't think the ref did that badly today as I said before and I'm normally quite vocal about the ref's performances.

Apart from the assist for the goal I haven't seen much from Rooney to justify a starting spot.

I would drop him and Mata for Miki and Rashford. Fortunately for Rooney Martial gives Jose a license to keep him in as he has been very quiet this season so far by his standards.

Great goal though. I do enjoy the last minute winner.Hull were very good defensively, I thought it wasn't going to happen for us today.

It was nothing to write home about in the first half, we were very much looking like a LvG team then, but thankfully something must have been said in the dressing room at half time, as we were better in the second half, and I think deserved the win.

Great to see us actually trying for the win, and not just settling for the draw, as I think we might very well have done under LvG.

Martial been very quiet??? He's been down right awful our worse player of the season so far. He started to go off the boil towards the end of last season. He's a wonderful player a great prospect, but I think we put to much on him last year, and we are now paying for it. He's not even looking like he's going to do anything, give him the ball and a chance to run past a player or weave into the box, he's just not beating the first man, let alone a second or third. No matter what you think of Rooney right now, over the course of this season, do you think Martial would have made the goal tonight at that moment?

On a side note, and I've forgot to mention it in my previous posts, got to give Hull some credit for the performance, coming up against us with only so many fit players, they put everything on the line and executed Phelan's game plan to a T. It may only be 3 games, but he seems to be doing a reasonable job as manager, even if it is caretaker.

Mourinho says Fellaini has a back injury and 'it's bad', according to Mark Ogdan.

An injury before an international break? Surely not.

A couple of weeks rest should do.☺

I believe a Utd fan broke his leg during the goal celebration.

I've never been a fan of him on the left.

Like Rashford, I think he's far more effective in the centre.

Same here, I think he is a bit cut off from the game when out wide, in the centre he has more chance to really impact the game, but with our current options as they are, it does seem though that he will be out wide for the time being if he wants game time.

It'll always be Fergie Time, Jose himself said as much in the MUTV interview!

That's rather the point though, of playing people like Rooney and Ibra. After a quiet match, they can and do win matches in a flash. I'd keep both of them in and find a way of playing Rashford more often.

Great result though, 2nd half attack attack attack and a Fergie time goal, just like the old days.

Fellaini being a true gent. Maybe this is how he hurt his back.

Martial would have been completely ineffective playing through the centre, today.

He's very rarely played as a central striker, for any of his teams. There's a reason for that.

That will surely be where he ends up though, as he is unsuited long-term to be stuck out on the left hand side, he could be far more effective in the middle, and if he is to make that transition, he will need games to show that he is capable of playing in the centre.

I agree with all you wrote Fergie but it's the BIB that needs addressing. Ronney did very well for the goal and I think Jose is getting the best of what Rooney still has to give but.... he is now a liability in ways he wasn't before. I just hope , when it comes to time to drop him, Jose does drag it out into a sag the way LVG did.

Yep it is very early days but he is doing well with Hull. Credit where I never thought I'd give it....

I completely disagree.

His style isn't suited to playing through the middle, and he's not a natural finisher, either.

Only my opinion, but I'd be very surprised if he ever becomes anything other than a stop-gap, in that position.

To be fair, he is still young, (okay slightly older than Rashford) there is still more than enough time for him to develop his game.

The Martial we are seeing now is not the one that we will see in two, three or four years time.
He has pace, and very good movement, I can see him doing very well through the middle once he is given that opportunity.

It's not a case of whether I think he would have made the goal, he hasn't been at his best so far. However i'm not going to excuse Rooney's contribution either just because he provided an assist for the goal. There was a spell in the first half where he lost the ball at least twice in quick succession. He didn't have a great first half that's for sure.

As I said previously we need pace in this side but if I were to make changes it would be for Rooney and Mata, although I do think Mata is more deserving of a place in the 11.

I don't think you can compare Rooney and Ibra on current form. But they need more pace around them so Miki or Rashford to start next game, probably for Martial.

Be good to see Rashford against City, he did very well the last time he played against them.
