If someone throws an elbow at an opponents head, then the identity of the person and club involved is irrelevant, they should all be punished fairly if they commit the same crime.

The same goes if it is one of our players, I just wish to see a bit of consistency that is all.
Yet you claimed Schweinsteiger's ban was unjust?

He elbowed the exact same player Aguero elbowed last season. You then claimed that his ban was unjust.

Same guy? Wow, that's unlucky. Poor guy must have a real fear of Fellaini.

Without remembering or recalling the exact incident in question, it is hard to say if my stance at the time was wrong or not.

But in general, players should get punished for similar incidents.

Found a YouTube video, perhaps now with this video evidence it will jog your memory and you can tell us if your stance at the time was wrong or not? I look forward to your answer

Yeah, Winston Reid. I'm half expecting him to come out for his next match with a Cech-style helmet to protect himself.

I agree with your second point, players should be treated the same as previous offenders. Which is why it's annoying when people try to claim one is unjust and another isn't.

Thanks for providing the link ags_rule.

First of all thanks for the link to the video, so that I could see it again, and I do think it is different to Aguero's, in so much as there doesn't seem to be a swinging arm, it just seems to be a collision that happens, but to be consistent here, looking back with the advantage of time, perhaps he did deserve a ban for that incident.

Speaking of Schweinsteiger, here's what he's had to say about his situation:

“Of course my absolute dream would be to play for Manchester United and help them reach the goals they have,”

“Of course we have had talks and I have no problem with Jose Mourinho. We had a good chat and he told me his side of things and I also know what I want.

“We’ve got to wait and see how things go in September and October, but there is respect between us and that’s important for me.

“I’m certainly not going to stop playing football.”

“The transfer window is closed in the USA so I’m not going there now.

“It’s my dream still to play for Manchester United and if I get a fair chance, I believe in it.

“I played in the semi-finals of the European Championship as part of the world champions’ team, and I believe in my ability and dream of helping United.

“I think up to my suspension last year, things were going well for me, then I had two unfortunate injuries.

“But as I said, it’s my absolute dream and goal (to play for United again), but we’ve got to see what the situation is. The USA is certainly an option, should it come to that.”

“Despite this situation, I’m feeling fine,”

“I think the Champions League final (defeat to Chelsea in 2012) in Munich was harder to get over.

“I am more mature now and know how to deal with certain situations in football. It’s not all about highs, there are also lows but I can deal with it.

“Football is a hard business.”

Surprisingly, no mentions of 'bullying', 'disrespect' or 'disgraceful treatment'. It's almost like he's an actual grown-up, who accepts the situation, even if he's not overly happy about it.

Not a bad move if it happens, hopefully this situation is resolved as having a player like him not playing does seem a bit of a loss really.

Sounds as if he is just waiting until the window opens again to move to America, which would be a sensible idea.

He also comes across like he actually likes being here, and really wants to play for us, which is what we should always want our players to be wanting to do.

He certainly doesn't seem to be the trouble making type, so if he doesn't play, then I think that he may very well be down about that, but you won't get him being a distraction to the team.

Where's the part where Mourinho gets arrested for making him train with reserves?

Justice just ain't what it used to be

Good, hopefully the punishment will be the standard three match ban.

We should be able to start forming a match plan without having to worry about him now, presumably Indenacho will take his place.

Why are you so bothered? You're always banging on about us having a better squad than them, so why are you so afraid of him?

He's a great player, but City have other great players.

Huh??

When did I say that I was afraid of him??

I am not afraid of him, he is a very talented player, but with or without him, I am confident that our manager can put together a plan in which we can beat them.

It's been five years since we beat Arsenal 8-2.

Incredibly, this was the team that day:

De Gea
Smalling - Jones - Evans - Evra
Nani - Cleverly - Anderson - Young
Rooney - Welbeck

Sir Alex was an absolute genius. Hammered Arsenal with a midfield of Cleverly and Anderson!

That midfield

We started that season like a train but were ridiculously open and gave up chances at will, culminating in the game that must not be mentioned against the berts.

The away game was just as bad despite a more respectable score line than the previous one.

There was an air of inevitability about it. The team line up in the away game didn't bode well from the off.

when they started cleverly and anderson were a fantastic midfield going forward but it left us too open at the back. Something changed in cleverly over time, (or under moyes), as he started out being a much better player than he is now given credit for.

Agree about Cleverly, looked like a good player who could move the ball quickly and create, even had potential for England... Then he fell off... Anderson had a handful of good games including one where he dominated Gerrard vs Liverpool.
