Don't know if anyone caught soccer am this morning, but Jamie Carragher stating "Manchester is probably the biggest City in the World, in terms of Football" was pure gold.
Must have killed him saying that.

City have attacked too much for my liking.

Having watched the first 15 mins this could get ugly, and lingaard has lost the ball every time he's had it.

Can't believe what I'm watching. We are absolute pants and City are playing us off the park!
![]() We've got to be better in the second half surely?! ![]() Hold it, 1-2, their new keeper fluffed it. Lifeline!

Not the ideal half time score, but we are still very much in this.

Pereira just celebrated Zlatan’s goal on snapchat.
City have given a hell of a lot in the first half. I can see it being a lot more open in the 2nd half. I can see us scoring a couple. They do loom suspect at the back. |

I can accept we are getting beat, City have bossed the game, and deserve the lead. However, what I can't accept is the seemingly lack of passion from us at home, in a derby. There is a lot of areas where we are getting hammered, it's difficult to see where we are going to change things.

After their new keeper ballsing it, I think the second half will be more attacking (from us, I hope!)

If we put pressure on Bravo I can see us getting a few goals back if he keeps playing the same style.

Agreed. Rashford, Zlatan and Pogba should sort him out

Ibra needs to stop with the first time hits, he needs to take a touch first and then aim.

Not going to be too negative. We battered them the last 20-25 minutes. Bravo and Stones are liabilities and City do not look unbeatable by any stretch of the imagination.

City are just better than us at the moment pains me to say it but they are the better team the only chance any of us will have is if Bravo is exposed. We weren't helped by the ref today he was all for City, Rooney was poor yet again, Rashford did well when he came on, overall disappointing never saw us getting an equaliser today.

I hate that ref, hes f-ing idiot. Why do we lose most games whens hes in charge.
Saying that Lingard and Mkhitaryan were poor. |

Yep, shit first 40 minutes by us but the rest of the game was a proper match and on another day we'd have had a goal or two more. Too early in the season to draw any long term conclusions except that we are better than last year - but so are City. I think we'll do just fine but whether or not we win the title may be in the lap of the football gods.

A better second half, and certainly Clattenburg should have spotted the penalty, possibly one for each. However, that tackle by Bravo was a red card one. The tactical change at half time worked, Rashford did well, and certainly furthered his claims to start the next game.
For me though special mention for Valencia, the guy isn't a right back and whilst he got caught a couple of times got back and didn't lose his battle on the wing. Attacked as well as any one, something Shaw didn't do. For me he was possibly our MOTM, can't think of anyone else really. It may not be a popular notion, whilst our usual scapegoats will be targeted for being the cause of our problems, none of our summer signings showed up today. Even though he scored, Zlatan was dreadful, Pogba just didn't do anything and Miki I fear wasn't at the races, though it could be said he may not have been fit and it was a gamble to play him. As probably was Lingard, however one thing I did notice compared to last year was Lingard didn't wander and didn't swap at all during the first half with anyone. Last year he'd drift inside, switch wings and it proved effective, today it didn't happen, but again he's coming back from an injury, he and Miki were the easy options to take off at half time. |

I am taking the rest of the day off from here, as I just cannot stand getting beat by either them or Liverpool.
Today is most definitely not a good day. I don't want to hear praise for Saint Pep, or anything about them, today has really got me down. So enjoy a day free from me, as I try and somehow get over this. I am just not in the mood for any analysis, perhaps when I calm down a little then maybe I can take a step back, but just now it is still too raw amd fresh. |

Well that sucks, much more of a contest in the second half but overall City were the better team and could have easily scored a couple more on the break with more composure. Really fancied us today but that first half performance was a shocker, I thought the new signings in particular were poor today. We're only 4 games in though so I'm not going to get too depressed about it, plenty of time to rectify it.

Meh. 2nd half was a good game but you can't put that 1st half showing in against a side like them and expect to get away with it. Gave them far too much respect, they're a very good side but they aren't Guardiola's Barcelona.

City are definitely the real deal & although we should have have a penalty or two, I think they deserved it.
Much for Jose to ponder, but I'm glad we've got this one out of the way early, as we now know where we stand at a time in the season when it's not so critical. |

Even though we lost, and even though that Ref was his usual f'ing, t'ing self, what made that game for me was that we didn't give up.
