The fact that we got outclassed for 45 minutes by them was embarrasing to say the least. Serious questions need to be asked as to what happened to Pogba the amount of times he lost the ball was shocking. Others didnt perform to the second half was better but why do we result in playing the long ball. City were miles apart yesterday and that hurts me to say it but i do appreciate good football and Pep looks to have that team playing very well. Yes its early days so improvement will come hopefully and lets hope Rashford starts getting a regular start.

That was obvious yesterday after Bravo's slip, it was something to work on. We've used it a lot more than people think over the years. More so when chasing games in the later parts of matches we've launched the ball to create panic in the opposition box to grab a corner or throw, when we had Beckham and Neville to provide decent delivery of these set pieces.

Mourinho made the mistake of playing Lingard and Miki from the start, one has just come back from injury and the other one hasnt started a Premier League game. This was not the time to start them. I could see what he was attempting but City saw right through it and rather than us exploit them they did the exact thing to us.
For whatever people say, Mata is an absolutely class player who was harshly dropped. If you are playing Valencia as the right back then play Mata. The two have a good understanding and allows Valencia to push forward. Rooney needs a rest, with so much players sitting on the bench who can retain a ball and do a similar job Rooney's performances havent justified his position. I mean it says something when Fellaini keeps being the best midfielder. Thursday the team is changing, I hope those who will be given the chance take the opportunity and put the others on alert. |

Does anyone know whatever happened with the Becks Miami team thing? I'm going next year and instead of doing the usual baseball thing I thought I'd try an MLS game. Miami has a team but the Beckham team seems to have fizzled.
The anniversary of 9/11 today still reminds me of my first time to NYC 3 months after. I actually saw a comment that has been retweeted today of someone asking what happened on 9th November. Are people so uneducated that they don't realise that USA use a different month/date system than us??? More to the point why question what is so blatantly obvious and probably the worst day that I can remember seeing unfold. |

I've seen people do exactly that on twitter, saying things like"I think you mean November 9th?"
People like that are both incredibly insensitive and stupid, as far as I am concerned. |

we needed pace on the counter attack against city's high pressing system, we already lacked pace with rooney and zlatan through the middle, mata would of made us even slower. mata also struggles to retain posession when closed down quickly and usually gets dispossessed in those situations, he would of lost the ball more then anyone, how you think he would of solved anything is baffling...
Those two inclusions did us in the first half yesterday. Hopefully Martial will be back next game. |

I wonder what sort of team we could see in our Europa League match?
Presumably a fair few of the players that have not so far featured might get their chance to try and impress José. |

They still have to get a ground sorted (don't know why, New York City didn't have to), and get an actual roster of players sorted out. So quite a long way to go still. |

But both Miki and Lingard were returning from injury so a fully fit Mata would have been less of a risk fitness wise despite not being the fastest.

Yesterday was just one of those days where things just didn't go in our favour, these things happen, on another day they could have and should have been down to ten men, with their keeper being sent off, but nevermind, it has happened and we move on.
Let's regroup and focus on winning our next match. |

The last time I checked on that, he still had a deal to start a team, but it was not coming into force until 2018 at the earliest.

Get decent deliveries into a place where a penalty area bully like Ibrahimovic can benefit and United will benefit. It isn't rocket science and it aint always pretty, but better that than losing. Loved the sight of Alex Ferguson bemoaning only five minutes of stoppage time. In his day the ref would have just said "Play on until United score". I sometimes wonder if anybody is keeping comparison stats on how many goals United score in stoppage time during / post Ferguson. It might make interesting reading. |

Let's regroup and focus on winning our next match. I'm wondering if he thinks his position of team Captain gives him the right to dispute refereeing decisions. He did this several times yesterday (and in every game that's been televised this season). If referees followed the letter of the directive, he'd be off in no time at all. A team Captain has no right whatsoever to question any refereeing decision. He isn't allowed to ask for clarification, or intervene on behalf of an opponent. He isn't allowed to dissent, dispute, question or in any way, shape or form put the referee under any pressure. So... with all that in mind, what could he possibly be saying to the match officials he spends large amounts of time following around the pitch haranguing all through every match, that doesn't amount to dissent in one shape or form...? Wayne Rooney gets a lot of latitude from referees. He gets away with a lot just because he's Wayne Rooney. United fans have no cause to complain of being hard done by. United have got away with enough murder / daylight robbery / iffy refereeing calls for more years than I can imagine. It's true that City got away with a stick-on penalty yesterday when Claudio Bravo brought Rooney down. United should have had one, no question. But sometimes you don't get what you're entitled to and you just have to suck it up. You don't get all your own way all the time. When it happens, just think of all the times poor refereeing has gone in your favour. You've had more than most, methinks. |

A moot point about City going down to ten players. United could have lost Rooney if the referee had kept to the letter of the instruction to referees to card players who dissent.

It's called 9/11, because it happened on the 11th of September in America. You'd have to be a real idiot to think it should be called, or referred to, as 11/9, or ask about the 9th of November. |

Sounds good enought to me!
Be interesting to see how well a Smalling and Bailly partnership could be. |

Yeah that is the move that I think makes the most sense.
