What style are Man Utd trying to play. As the players look incompatible.

Pogba would be best in a 4-1-2-3 as one of the 2 centre-mids but Man Utd dont have a holding midfielder. Mkhitaryan would be best in a 4-2-3-1 as the attacking midfielder in the middle of the 3 but then Pogba doesnt fit in. Then you also lack real wide players, Martial and Rashford are probably best but both are really strikers who just happen to be quick.

You should really have signed Kante and Mahrez instead for a more balanced team. It will be very difficult to fit Pogba and Mkhitaryan into the same team and thats ignoring Rooney and Mata who also play in similar areas.

Really poorly put together squad from Mourinho.

Got away with that one there, Chris Smalling is utter dross.

Probaby half a £billion spent in the last 5 years and Smalling and Fellaini, Crystal Palace level players still getting a game not to mention Rooney, Martial and Rashford playing out of position. Even Valencia still hanging about who has probably been written off and binned about 3 different times but keeps coming back.

Scouts need sacked.

I genuinely believe Rooneys downfall is because of the switch to midfield.

Pogba was a marquee signing based on that and not where he would actually fit into the team.

For the money spent he is a guaranteed starter however it won't be long before it becomes a similar Rooney type problem

They need to take Martial off, that head bash has clearly had a huge effect on him.

Yeah, agree.

He needs freedom and to play centrally but to do that Man Utd need two good sitting midfielders or atleast 1 and someone else slightly defensive like what Chelsea have with Kante and Matic. But Man Utd have Fellaini and Schneiderlin/Blind just really average players who arent near good enough.

Mkhitaryan cannot possibly play in the same team as Pogba either because they both like to play in the same kind of areas and the Rooney probably just destroys everything for either of them as he keeps playing and also plays in the same areas.

I cant understand at all why they signed Pogba and Mkhitaryan when they are really soft centred in midfield and defence and needed defensive players.

It is a really unbalanced Man Utd front six. Only Ibrahimovic seems to know or is comfortable in his position. Fellaini is dreadful as what he is good at, so even worse as a defensive midfielder, which he isn't.

Rooney and Rashford cannot sustain 90 minutes in their positions today and play anywhere near their best.

They will win much more matches than they lose, purely from the weight of quality and attacking players in their front six.

However, against either decent opposition or a clever organised side they will struggle if they persist with the current players and that formation. At least two or three of the superstar players (and you can include Rashford in that) will need to sit out the big matches.

We got away with it this half, though we look soft in the middle today, similar to how we did last weekend, all be it to a different system.

We simply haven't created enough chances in the last 3 or 4 games, which is most unlike Jose's teams. Something isn't quite right.

Rooney's situation is very reminiscent of Brian McClair all those years ago. Never had much pace as a striker and when age caught up with him he moved back into midfielder where all he did was slow the game down and pass the ball backwards or sideways.
He seemingly could not be dropped as he was a favoured son, just like Rooney now.
At the time we had no alternatives, you could argue it's the same now!

We need more creativity in the middle!
And when we do go forward, they have 6 players back and we have 3 labouring to get there.

I'd take a draw now. I don't know how Watford were @5/1 to win this. With them at home and both teams current form it was always going to be much tighter than that.

It amazes me that such a good manager still plays such a shit player who messes up 90% of what he does, Rooney is a liability of epic proportions.

Go on Rashford!

Rashord did well for the goal, but that was all about Zlatan. F*** the draw. Let's win this now

Someone on the BBC site it United rarely pass the ball to someone moving forwards it's always to standing players .

I suppose the midfield is quite slow and ponderous so this might be a factor

Back in the game without playing well

One of the main arguments against dropping Rooney is that he's the captain.

Questions have to be asked then as to why he is the captain - because as captain he has presided over a failure of epic proportions.

Thank goodness for Rashford.

Because he cried like a baby and threatened to leave so he could be captain. Should have just let him leave.

Why do we have nobody who can take a decent corner or free kick?
Been the same for many seasons now

I'm not.
Some really poor refereeing going on, we're being kicked all over the park but only our players are getting booked, but that does not excuse our lack of creativity and pace.

This is a god damn joke now.
