Rooney knows full well he's playing shit. The question is whether he still thinks he can do anything about it.

Alas not all of it, anyway does one game mean that should be the end of what could be a promising partnership?

No. Did I imply that it should?

You said, 'If only there was a way....' of getting them both into the team, from the start.

It happened against Watford. So I guess that there is 'a way'.

I am useless when it comes to remembering these things, did we start with both of them, as that was what I was asking or enquiring about.
I know that they have been on the pitch together after subs etc, but have they started a match together?

You're welcome.

Ahh right, now I get what you mean, sorry about the confusion there, it was entirely on my end.

It might not have worked out too well there on that day, but I do hope to see more of it, as I am a fan of both of them, and think that there is potential on that partnership to be a very good one for us.

"Wayne Rooney responds to critics"

Sanctioned by the club too. Quite terrifying really.

Mourinho's confirmed that Martial's out of tomorrow's game, with injury.

Means Rashford will start then. Mkhitaryan and Shaw are available, reckon they'll both start as well.

If Shaw's fit, then he absolutely has to start.

Not so sure about Mkhitaryan. I reckon that he might go back to Mata. Of course, if he drops Rooney, then he might play Mata in the middle and Mkhitaryan out wide, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Herrera play behind Ibrahimovic either.

What would be the point in buying Miki and then not playing him, or giving him a fair chance of starting games, he surely has to start games sooner rather than later, to justify his signing??

I hope he starts personally, he has that extra bit about him that could help us to open up opposition defences.

A midfield of Herrera, Pogba, and Fellaini, with Rashford and Ibra ahead would be something that I wouldn't mind seeing.

Huh??

I am not arguing with anyone, I was just wondering aloud (if that is possible on a forum) about that point.

Guess a lot will depend on how Mkhitaryan looked in training but I think he'd be better against Leicester, they'll probably sit deep and I think that suits Mkhitaryan on the wing. Him and Valencia could be a lethal combination.

I wouldn't mind trying Mata in the middle but I think we'll move towards a 4-3-3, with Pogba and Herrera given license to push forward.

There would be zero point which is why literally no-one has suggested that he shouldn't be given a chance, hence Jim's confusion. The question is whether he should go straight into the team, especially considering what happened last time he was rushed back.

Well I think he was rushed back last time around so sub might be a better option. Rashford and Mata to start for me.

No, not at all, it just seemed a strange question to ask considering that I wasn't looking to have an argument with anyone over that point.

We can't keep delaying and delaying putting him into the team, he is too good a player to not be playing for us.

I would like to see your suggestion of him Valencia on the same wing, that sounds exciting.

So. It seems then, that apart from dear old Tribec, we are all mostly in agreement. Everybody wants Rooney dropped. Well done everyone. only took us a season and a bit to get there. Over to you now Jose......

(he'll play him of course and probably Carrick as well )

When have I said such a thing?? All I've done is get wound up by constant scapegoating. I've constantly said he's not performing, but also that the rest of the squad aren't performing. If he doesn't play and we are as bad as we have been, I'll guess that Fellaini or Rojo should they play will bare the brunt of the frustration in here, they are the other two at the moment.. The way it goes at the moment they'd be moaned at if they sneezed on a Sunday instead of a Monday, or if they took the left sock off before the right sock, it's getting to that hysterical level...

If we drop points it doesn't mean we would have done any better with him in the team. It's obvious that Rooney isn't the only problem we have but we have to start playing the best system and that probably means he doesn't fit into it.

We won't get top 4 by shoehorning Rooney in every game. I don't want to see another manager sacked because we refuse to adapt to his obvious decline.

He's a striker and isn't scoring,we need our goals from elsewhere.

Well I have well and truly cursed Rashford now, as I have removed Ibra and put him in his place in my fantasy team, hopefully that means that Ibra has a good game tomorrow, as that would just sum up my luck!

Well, at least we now know who to blame if Rashford has a bad game.

This is getting tiring. It's not scapecoating anymore than it's "not performing". Rooney is meant to be our main man and is currently crap. Even the early-season assists have dried up. And you have shown a consistent stubborness to accept the that his play is hurting our offensive capabilities more than perhaps any other forward player. Zlatan has scored, assisted and still has his touch and vision, Rashford - say no more. Lingard and Miki weren't fit last time out. Pog - not great, but not terrible and will get better, Fellani - god bless him, he's doing his best, but his best really isn't quite good enough. Mata, Martial and Memphis haven't been stellar, but guess what? THEY HAVE BEEN BENCHED OR DROPPED OR SUBBED FOR THEIR FORM BUT NOT ROONEY!!

Sorry to shout.

If (big if) he is dropped 2mmrw and we still don't play well that doesn't mean automatically mean Fellani or Rojo will be targeted - that will only happen if they play poorly.

Now this is hysterical. Fellani has almost as many defenders on here as he does detractors. If you look just a couple of posts batdude includes him in the midfield he'd most like to see. The goodwill has run out for Rojo, that's true, but he's undeniably dodgy.
