We perform very well, and beat the reigning champions, and there are hardly any posts about it the day after!

Not shooting our mouths off after one decent performance is where we are.

I'm just basking in the satisfaction of not seeing Fellaini in the team

Fair enough, we did look better without Fellaini and Rooney yesterday.

Both probably will be back for the Zorya game on Thursday I think.
Hopefully we can get a few goals in that game as well to keep the confidence levels high.

I suppose other posters don't benefit from limitless time to post on this board. Whereas it's more or less a full time job for others.

We won against the champions. After the first goal went in it was an excellent performance until the end of the first-half, and the second-half was simply about control. Rooney and Fellaini were dropped, as they should have been, and neither have done anything this season to merit starting in the Premier League. However, champions or not, Leicester were always going to be "one season wonders" - I still think any talk of relegation is ridiculous, but they are a firmly mid-table side, so 4-1 is a fair result and nothing to get carried away about. Thankfully I'm glad Mourinho isnt doing a Klopp and talking about the team being "world class" after beating a 10-man newly promoted side.

Still fast asleep in bed at 9:39 am on a Sunday morning, that's where I was.

Tbf I think Fellani has done a decent job this season so far, maybe it's a case of there are better players to use if we want to play a certain way?

But Batdude's question was fair, even if the timing was off. If we had lost 4-1 instead of winning you can bet the thread would have gone into posting meltdown - even without the WUM's who would have lumped on. Even during the match there was a post on not getting carried away because Leicester are crap. Well, with respect, Watford and Feyenord aren't world-beaters either and we couldn't win against them.

It is usual to get more posts after a defeat, but in the circumstances I thought this win would have been celebrated a little bit more on here. The response to the next couple of games will be very interesting...

Whether his question was fair or not is irrelevant. The point stands. His whole existence seems to depend on people posting in this thread.


We can't all post immediately after a game, on multiple occasions. Some of us need a good couple of days to take in a result before forming views on it.

Well of course there will be more posts upon a defeat. There are more talking points and debates to have than in a win. Also there is no need to get carried away, it was one match with our best eleven (although you could argue for Shaw over Blind but its a nice issue to have) against a team who threw in the towel (Vardy and Mahrez sub off at half time). With our best eleven we can beat the majority of teams, its when injuries happen and games mount up is when itll be time to question.

Rooney's place in the first time is over and its best for all parties, give him the lesser teams in lesser competition to find his form and make him earn his place back. For whatever you say about him he has given a lot but its time for a break especially if Mata plays like that.

As for a forum as a whole, I would post here more often but it feels more like replying to a blog than a forum. Keeps coming back to the same topic about the same individual, its utterly boring on all sides.

I had my say straight after the game on Saturday, there's not a lot left to say really after 1 win. I'm sure if we win the next 3 there'll be a lot of excitement on here, as it is though I think most people are just being cautiously optimistic after beating Leicester.

And so what if it does? This is a United thread, however much some people want to make it about one poster (including maybe that poster himself). You posted twice on this page after the match for example. And niether time did you talk about the actual match. Now, you're entitled to post what you want, but I don't see why another poster's distractions, however annoying you might find them, stop you as a United fan from posting about an actual, much-needed win.

I haven't claimed to be annoyed. I just said not everyone is always around after a game, which is true. You are probably the best example of the lot. We usually get your views on a Saturday lunchtime kick off around midnight on Monday morning.

Well you sound as if you're a bit miffed. And your point about usual timing of my views is fair comment, but I often have to use multi-quote when I do post because there's usually so many meaty match-day viewpoints left previously. Just a little surprised it didn't happen this time around.

Anyway, back to the footie, I think one of the plus points that has flown under the radar is that Jose and Mata seem to have kissed and made up. Things will probably get a bit more tense when Miki is fit, but at least it doesn't look like Jose is being a stubborn a-hole over a player who can clearly contribute to the cause.

To be fair....we played well with them in the team up untill the 3 defeats.

I'd keep with the same team against zora then see how we react.

Like many others I just hope rooney is rested and only used bit part if at all.

I like the guy I really do, but I wonder if after all the stuff that's been released to the press over the last few years....if it may have been him.

I wouldn't be surprised if the team was similiar to the league cup game . It depends where the Europa league is on the priority list.

I think it was Gary Neville who said that Rooney has played something like 800 odd games for club and country so far in his career, and he is only thirty, and he played only nearly 700 games in his whole career!

I think it is showing now with Rooney, and it is a shame, as he has provided us with so many great goals and memories over the years.

It is a shame that someone who is right on the cusp of being our all time top goalscorer, is seeing his top level career end this way.

What I don't understand with Rooney is why his touch has become so bad. The decline in pace and the stamina is understandable - even the passing could be a confidence issue but he's got a touch like a leper at the moment. I don't think he's finished though and I hope as others have said a rest and needing to fight for his place will see him improve.

His touch and control is just abysmal, and is why he slows things down for us so much, if that has gone then there really is no way back for him, perhaps it might be best to do the Schweinsteiger with him, sad as it may be when he is as close to the all time goalscoring record as he is, but we must not let sentiment rule over commonsense.

No way will Mourinho exile Rooney like Schweinsteiger, Rooney may only be dipped in and out as a consequence of his form. If Rooney returns to form he'll return to the 10 role. Because he's captain, because he's Rooney and because Mourinho has a spot for him like he said he's his man

That soft spot may not extend to keeping him in the team if it means dropping points.

Jose needs to cover his own arse first and foremost.
