I haven't mentioned Man City result because they were flying high and (on paper) look nailed-on for the title.
United and Chelsea are roughly in the same boat at the moment. Neither of us expect to win the title, but Champions League football is almost a "must". We're both in touch with the top four and an away draw against one of our main rivals would look pretty good to me.”
It is because of that very poor result at Watford, and the draw against Stoke, that means we really cannot afford to drop points on a regular basis, if we do wish to compete at the top.
Yes only eight games have gone, and there are plenty more left, but with so many good teams competing for only four places, when other teams do drop points, we need to take advantage of that.
Sadly we didn't do that last night, instead, e allowed City, Spurs and Everton to go unpunished, which is terribly annoying.
Normally, I would say a point away at Liverpool would be an okay result, but it is about looking at the league table as whole, and so far we are seventh, with a bit of a gap starting to form, we need to make sure that gap doesn't keep on increasing, to say 10 plus points, as that is when it would become very tough to overhaul.
