James Wilson's been sent back by Derby, due to a serious injury.

Going the same way as Will Keane?

It would be such a shame, as he is clearly a talented player.

It doesn't seem as if he will make it with us, as Rashford has clearly jumped ahead of him, in the perceived pecking order, so I hope that he finds himself a good club.

Wilson had just scored his first goal as well for Derby, no news yet, all we know it's a major knee injury. Hopefully it isn't a season ending injury, if it is then he'll be lucky to get a Championship loan next year.

I like Wilson and he's a deadly finisher, but he's looking more and more like another Mark Robins, who'll score goals where ever he goes, but will never quite reach the potential he showed as a youngster. He got his chance and took it at the wrong time, Rashford took his chance at the right time and that's how marginal making it can be.

Celtic will take him on loan next season he'll do for us as back up to Dembele and Griffiths.

Great to have him locked in for a good while longer.”

That is good news. Also interesting to see how we cope with all the changes tonight. If we are going to do anything this year we need squad depth.

Would have been better playing Rashford up front in this game than Rooney who has no pace. Rashfords been stuck on the wing for a while when hes been scoring goals through the middle.

Man United have scored again

At this rate you could beat Chelsea at the weekend

Fantastic performance so far!

A Manchester team involved in a 4-0 scoreline in Europe, now where have I heard that before?!

Pog is most definitely back!

Sam Allardyce at Old Trafford acting like nothing has happened

I think Sir Alex Ferguson probably invited him as they are good friends

Shame not to keep a clean sheet, but if we had to concede a goal, then RvP scoring it, is okay but me.

What were people saying about Jose's boring style of football?

The first half especially was very easy on the eye and it was great to see the part Rooney played in that stunning third goal.

Two fantastic balls for the two penalties.

Not often a goal from an opposition player rounds off a truly satisfying night

Yes it has been a good night all round really, just a shame Rooney couldn't of got on the score sheet as it would of done his confidence the world of good, he made some good touches and his passing was certainly better but his confidence in front of goal is shot.

Missed the first half, but I felt Rooney contributed more than of late in the second half. Lots of good runs which weren't spotted. Nice goal by Jessie, he doesn't do simple tap in's does he??

Nice run out for the second/third choice players in the squad and rest some legs as well. TSM into midfield was nice to see. He is a midfielder by trade, just his height and size have meant he's been moved between the middle and defence.

I would normally say we should have kept a clean sheet, but as it was RVP I don't think we'll mind unless it goes to goal difference like.

MP, I think the last opposition player to get anything like that could have been Ronaldo for Madrid when he scored that hat-trick.

The last occasion an opposition player got a standing ovation like that probably was Becks I think, when he was here with AC Milan.

Makes me a lot more confident going to Stamford Bridge, where we really need a win to close the gap to the top teams.

All this without Miki, I have no idea how he is going to get a run of games at this rate.

Really? You should have mentioned it

If Mourinho thinks that Mkhitaryan is what he needs in the side, he'll get picked.

Carrick, Mata, Lingard and Pogba were all very good, tonight. Shaw was pretty poor. I'll put it down to rustiness.

Shaw is allowed a bit if a feeler, but it was no great surprise that we conceded after we brought Rojo on.
We have a fair few players in form, so picking a side for Sunday will be very hard to do.
Rooney should be back on the bench, strange for him to not take either if the pens, but perhaps he was allowing others to get some confidence.

I'm no big fan of Rojo, but he didn't do much wrong.

Shaw lost Van Persie for their goal, not Rojo.

Makosi completely ignored the points people make about Jose.
It's never been about him sending out teams to play positive football against teams his teams should beat easily.
It's when there's any threat to his teams dropping points when he becomes ultra cautious and often tries to do little more than ruin games and not lose.
That has always been the black mark against him.

A manager not wanting to lose a game of football against a rival. Shocking behaviour, truly shocking.

Oh for god's sake.

All you do is come into this thread to talk about how awful Jose is and how setting the record for goals in La Liga scoring more than one of the greatest teams ever is irrelevant because Sunderland and how he once murdered your kitten or some bullshit. Please just stop the drivel.
