Your boys took a beating, Jose needs to be sacked nobody wants to play for him Chelsea showed that last season, but today they played like demons to show Jose what they think of him, he's an ignorant man that's the problem.

What the same team who has gone 5 games without a win.and who's top player or one of best in Europe wants out
Wouldn't worry too. Much there if I were you F96

Yes it is but the frustrating thing is we haven't taken advantage of City's unexpected dip in form while other title contenders have. Three defeats is also a lot to have lost this early in the season if you want to win the title, or even finish top 4.

The day after still doesn't feel any better, it still feels as if we just didn't turn up at all.

So much for having a better defence than Liverpool.

So reading through the doom and gloom that has been this place since the final whistle yesterday, got me thinking (I know it's rare). What this place would have been like with you lot back in 1996 when we lost 0-5 to Newcastle and followed it up with a 3-6 to Southampton the following weekend and add to that defeats by Fenerbache and Chelsea at home.

Fergie would be shot half the team sold and the fabled class of 92 talked of in the same terms of Ralph Milne, William Prunier and Taibi. We've just played 3 games in 6 days against 2 of our biggest rivals away from home and a European game. Was yesterday acceptable? Of course it wasn't by a long way, but these things happen and we move on. Forget the media saying this, that and the other, we know where we are, we know where we want to be, as long as we trust Jose (or who ever the manager is at any point in time), we'll be fine.

I recall some time ago waiting twenty six years for United to win the League. If it is another 26 I doubt that I will be around to see it. It looks to me that a lot of other sides have been a bit cleverer with their purchases and we are currently no better than all the other mid table teams.

The bookies were offering 15 - 1 at half time for Chelsea to win four nil. A nice litle earner for anyone who was as depressed as I was. No I did not take it!

Ahh for the days when we were not petrified of going away from home, I remember scoring five at West Bromwich, eight at Nottingham Forest, and four at Arsenal, what I wouldn't give to go back to those times.

Sadly it seems it is a defensive first mindset that we have these days, and if we score one, then we should be happy with that.

New times I guess, must get used to now being a team who will only attack if we are encouraged to do so by the opposition, rather than ourselves.

Well when you go a goal down after 30 seconds I think that plan goes out of the window!

Considering how bad our midfield has been shame a certain German can't get a game on Wednesday, can't be any worse surely

Wise words, I couldn't have put it better myself.

Media clickbait generalising from a particular match as they always do, in untypical circumstances before and during it - and some fans collapse into doom, gloom and misery. It's football, these things happen - and not only to us! To requote Sir Alex once again: "Football... bloody hell!"

Just noticed this. I don't "wish to pass up" anything and your reply wasn't even to the point I made. You said before the match that it's a 'must win'; I said no it isn't - with reasons.

If you'd reply to what's written instead of what's not written, it would be helpful.

It's okay, he didn't think it was a "must win" either, because a draw wouldn't have been the end of the world, which means it was not a "must win".

Sorry when did Mufc score 8 at Forest? And 4 at Arsenal? I remember Forest beating mufc 4 nil in 77/78.

Not sure you would have been saying this at the start of the season. All strikers go through quiet spells as Giroud did in the early part of 2016.

I think you need to see what José does in the next two transfer windows. Unfortunately moyes and Lvg wasted a lot of money on mediocre players. They all need to be moved on. Mourinho has to start again. It's like buying a house and discovering the rot goes deeper.

Had to google this.

1999 when Utd were top of the table and Forest were bottom...

The good old days when we were not petrified to play the bottom team away from home and put 8 goals past them...

I was chatting about United these past few years (I'm a long supporter) with a friend who supports Chelsea and we both agreed that United enjoying a period of blistering success as they saw under Ferguson is a long, long way off. In a sense it was an anomaly. Year in, year out, Fergie came up with brilliant teams.

You can't blame Moyes, van Gaal or even Mourinho, although I'd like to. When I see them play these days, they just look so ordinary to me, so little passion, imagination and excitement.

United's players now look like hired hands rather than the 'United players' such as the Nevilles, Giggs, Butt, Scholes, Beckham and the rest, almost all of whom had been with the club man and boy. And even those who weren't, such as Hughes, Ince, Cantona, Robson, still seemed 'United players'. Now I just see a bunch of apparently talented players with reputation who have taken the United shilling. I'm sure they have professional pride and want their team to win, but it just ain't the same.

Don't know what's going to happen. And the solution most certainly is not Mourinho. Sad, really, after such a glorious two decades and more.

The thing that sticks out in my memory is OGS scoring four despite coning on with about ten minutes left!

Could do with a OGS in the team now.

You could do with that Beckham-Keane-Scholes-Giggs midfield. Best midfield in PL history.

C'mon Tribec. I'm sure if you tried really hard, you could be even more patronising than that. The two situations are hardly comparable are they? By 1996 time the long wait was over and we had already won everything bar the CL under Fergie but since SAF retired we've only won the FA cup and played pretty poorly since his retirement after having got used to, almost subconciously entitled to success. Also, what do you have to say about these worrying stats: firstly, that was Jose's heaviest PL defeat and second, he's only won about half the last thirty PL games he's managed?

Personally, I trust Jose as well. I think he got it right against Liverpool and the instant goal and lucky deflection for the second rocked us. Also, Luiz should have gone and that may have changed the game somewhat. Plus of course, a lot can happen between now and May and I think we're only the fitness of Miki and Shaw and the return to form (if possible) of Schnederlin away from having a top, top team.

But I don't blame anyone who's head has dropped after that shambles yesterday, when Chelsea weren't exactly there for the taking but were not really 4-0 better than us - and because of the dreary football we've played too often over the last three years. This time around I think anyone who wants to conduct a post-mortem on the defeat is entirely within their rights. And they don't need you or anyone else to tell them they're not.

I think it is time for Mourinho to admit he is wrong and bring back Carrick into midfield as the holding midfielder so can get the best out of Paul Pogba

Marouane Fellaini should never play for Man United ever again
