Nahh, Rooney as a top level player is done, and I think this will be his last season with us, although quite who will pay him his huge salary I don't know.

Rooney is 31 years old, Zlatan is 35. Rooney should still have something left to give, whether that's at United or not remains to be seen.
As for the loyalty part, if we're going down that road then I suggest you reacquaint yourself with the part where he threatened to leave.

He was a punt though. The problem is he's 35, we are relying on a kid and a player who has been out of form for some time to score goals which adds to the issue.

That's fair enough but signing him at those wages means he nearly always has to play irrespective of form.
This in turn probably does more damage to the likes of martial and rashfird than if they were playing regularly or being played out of position as they are

Rashford has played a lot of games tbf and Martial doesn't look at the races this season.

That's not quite how football works though is it? Zlatan is almost five years older than Rooney and for most of the season has looked fitter and sharper.

Both are similar in their careers, both made their debuts at a very young age, and both played a lot of games, both at level and international level, and so burnout was inevitable at a younger age then a lot of other players.
Rooney probably has played in more games than a lot of thirty five plus year olds who didn't make their debuts until later then they did.

You know, that guy who was a first-teamer for United at 18, has more international caps than Rooney and has played in every major international tournament that he's been available for, including being his nations MVP at the last one? He's looked after himself and I certainly don't remember him coming back after the summer carrying some baggage.
Giggs looked after himself well.
When I had my kids I chose to shift the baby weight. Some women don't. It's down to discipline not body type. Same kind of attitude to fitness imo.

and in other words, players, like people aren't the same. If Rashford's looking tired it's probably because he is despite Owen 10 thinking that he shouldn't be simply because Michael Owen wasn't tired at his age.

Yeah I think Rashford does need a rest.
Doesn't help that there is pressure on him to go to an under 21s tournament in the summer as well as being part of the first teamers for England. Do thy ever learn?
After all this, is anyone actually confident of getting anything from another foreign trip of sorts, across the border in Wales this weekend??
I am confident that we have the players to create chances, but not confident that we have the players to put them away (not with Martial and Rashford stuck out on the wings at any rate).
We also have a sub par defensive set up, which doesn't fill me with too much confidence, despite De Gea's brilliance.
So, slow starts, coupled with not being able to either defend consistently well, or score regularly, doesn't fill me with too much confidence.
I would love to wrong, and we bash Swansea for five, but sadly that doesn't seem all of that realistic of a hope.

However, we've seen some very silly and very early spots of dissent towards Jose, and though quite rightly slapped down without much support it is out there already. We know it's going to take a while and we may never reach the domination that we enjoyed in the 90's and 00's ever again, but we think he's the manager to bring us the title back. If though he isn't and we become restless again and get rid, at what point do we question those making the decisions rather than the man in charge of the team for making continually bad decisions?
They seem to be able to put the clubs name on absolutely everything, with this weeks addition mattresses and pillows, but when it comes to football choices, they have recently made 2 poor choices be one under advice from someone else, the other on there own. They've allowed two of the 3 managers to spend enough money that they need to partner with mattresses and pillow companies to be able to maintain the beast that is this club. As I said above, at what point will we turn on them rather than the latest managerial appointment?? (By them I mean those within the club and not them the owners (whom my dislike is well known)).

Too many bang average players earning a fortune which we can't shift whilst some of our top earners seem to be more bothered about how many followers they have on instagram rather than what they do on the pitch.
De Gea, Mata,Herrera,Bailly,Blind,Martial, Rashford,Valencia and Pogba.
Not particarly arsed about the rest.
Jury's still out on Shaw and Miki and obviously some of the young players who have time to prove themselves still.
