Bit early to be writing Ibrahimovic off as a 'terrible signing'.

I notice there was no mention of this when the goals were flowing at the start of the season.

Hopefully, he just needs one to go in off his bum, or something like that, for him to get back to his goalscoring ways for us once again, then people will start praising him once more.

I think what people need to remember is that Zlatan Ibrahimovic was FREE. Paul Pogba has been more of a disappointment this season than Zlatan and Pogba cost £89,000,000. Puts it in perspective a bit.

And anyone moaning about Zlatan's wages needs to remember that the biggest deadwood in the side, Wayne Rooney, is on a far bigger pay packet than Ibrahimovic.

Apart from the money and whatever talent he still possesses, I thought Ibrahimovic was brought in because he and Mourinho are friends and the latter wanted at least one player at the club he could trust. Which is not a small consideration, if the gossip is anything to go by.....

If there is no Rashford in the squad, then who do you suggest he be dropped for? As I can't quite see (unfortunately) José trying Martial up front in his place.
Ibra
Martial
Mata
Lingard
Carrick
Fellani
Shaw
Blind
Rojo
Darmian
De Gea

My team

*If Pogba is injured *

Is Carrick fit? I sure hope so, I would like to see Miki get a game soon, but as time goes on that is looking like a forlorn hope, up there with Schweini getting a game it seems.

Other than that, that does seem like the team that will play.

He's not on Physio room as being injured.

When you try to think of the strongest team it's difficult to do, definitely need signings.

As Blind is probably currently the best option at centre-back, left-back and holding midfield. As Smalling is the only other competent centre-back the now with Bailly injured. Shaw at left-back reminds me a bit of Phil Neville, not bad defensively but not good, not bad going forward but not good, not slow but not fast, not a bad user of the ball but not good everything just pretty average about him. Blind at least has good passing ability and vision and a good cross and better movement. Holding midfield there's nobody really, Blind is weak there but still better than the other options.

Out wide there are no options either, the 3 better attackig midfielders Pogba, Mata and Mkhitaryan all prefer playing in the middle of the park. Rashford and Martial are not wide players, certainly the type who Ibrahimovic like to feed him who get crosses in.

Everything still out of sync from defence to attack after years of trying to fix it, still 4 or 5 players away(centre-back, defensive midfielder, centre-mid and 2 wide players).

So the old men in Ibra, Rooney (who just acts old) and Carrick all start.

Depressing line up really.

Oh and Jones is not only alive, but he starts!

I didnt realise it was that bad at the back the now. Young, Jones, Rojo, Darmian with Carrick and Fellaini protecting is relegation material.

So City, Arsenal, Spurs all draw and Everton get thumped, can we get all three points today, and at least close that gap somewhat? With a slow team put out by José today, I am unconvinced that we will.

I have no idea what will happen! But if we win by two goals, we go... 6th. How times change.

SPL teams wouldnt be badly run enough to have the 2nd? largest budget in the world and have a team as poor as that on the park tbh, maybe Sevco would.

It looks like Swansea are being paid the 'compliment' of getting Mourinho's Liverpool game plan; suffocation for 70 minutes or so, then bring on Rashford and Martial. In the meantime I think I'll nip round to my Gran's house, just to make sure her zimmer frame hasn't been nicked.

Exciting times, sixth place could be ours!

I feel really energised now, knowing that such a coverted place is up for grabs!

Presumably Rui is in charge today then? What with José being banned?

Erm....i think you take enough of it judging by your posting history

The way we have played recently has been impressive.....we just haven't put any away.

We are due a good win....and to be fair we tend to do well just before the international break.

Let's see what today brings, not exactly inspiring much confidence that team in me, but hopefully we can get a win today.
