Yep, I said much the same as that after the Arsenal game, it's just a matter of time. Luck evens out in the end and that applies as much to the teams currently above us, some of whom will have a run of poor results at some stage. We are starting to play consistently well, more attractively than last season, and I think it's starting to happen. The signs have been there for a few weeks, I'm not expecting miracles just yet, but I think we can expect a general pick up in results for the rest of the year.

The bonus is that Mkhi showed some of his true potential tonight and Rooney is a man on a mission.

Still think the League is our priority and still think we could finish top 4, if not win it. But it won't hurt to have this EL as our back up.

The performances in the last half dozen or so home games have actually been very good, just not got the results to match. Sort that out and we'll be fine.

The Chelsea result really kicked us in the butt, and since then we have been playing probably the best football in the league, it is just so unfortunate that we haven't got the results that we really should have.

Now that we have hopefully turned a corner with lady luck, that might mean we can go on a much needed run of winning games, as it sure would be nice to really put some pressure on those teams above us.

Also quite how Mata is not getting more international games is beyond me, Silva getting more games for Spain than him is madness on their part really, as Mata has been on fire this season.
I am just glad that I think Carrick has retired from international football, as otherwise he would rightly so probably be England's most important player, and probably the captain.

Lots of positives to take away from this match, which hopefully will bode well for us, starting this weekend.

We have been playing like that for a while now, just without the goals, hopefully we can keep this up, as if so, we might finally be able to push on up the league table.

Miki was excellent last night, just a shame that he has been absent from the team, for not exactly the most reasoned of err reasons (if that makes sense!).
I hope that he has done enough to retain a place in the starting eleven this weekend.

I'm not going to go over the top just yet, this is a start but we need to continue this form in the domestic game, both home and away. Carrick did well, but he does well in that position now, I still have my worries when a team plays the press on him, and we know he isn't the quickest of players, but I've said that for years now and he keeps defying me and performing.

Rooney and Zlatan are very similar in some ways, both were outstanding players years ago and having them two in the team when they were around 28 would have been scary. Now however they are not the same players they were, but both are quite capable of scoring goals and creating them with equal aplomb, whilst also in the same game looking slower than a oil tanker, and the first touch of a donkey. When it works as it did last night it's great, but when it doesn't we look so toothless, be it with both in the team or either.

Going to give credit to Jose and his back room team, they've done something no other set of staff have done for some time, and get Phil Jones through 3 games in a row, and looking something like the player we bought. I have said a couple of weeks back with a run of games he'll do OK, and we'll be talking about him as we did with Smalling last year. Last night wasn't without fault, but it's better than it has been from him of late.

Miki did well, lets see if he can stay fit, and produce the form in the league. Europe is a different ball game to our league so he needs to get a few domestic games under his belt. It took Evra and Vidic nearly half a season to really produce, but the signs were there straight away that they were quality. Miki looks good so far, and perhaps a goal or two might help him.

Spain is blessed and packed with a multitude of riches in midfield, Mata my favourite player for United is good as we all should know but he's contesting with Silva and more. Silva is the better player

People seems to be forgetting Feyernoord are nobodies and they played shite at old trafford. Let's see you play well for 3 or 4 games in a row and score some goals in the process.

Hang on a minute, whilst in the past Silva has quite rightly been the better player of the two, I would disagree that he is now.
Mata is on fire at the moment, and Silva is not, so currently if I had to pick between the pair, Iwould go for Mata.

The dutch league is rubbish. Memphis Depay scored about 50 goals in his last season there. He looks like a pub team player in the premier league.

We sure as heck need them, as we really can't afford to keep on dropping points, and not getting wins, if we wish to move on up the league table.

Hopefully Miki has done enough to convince José that he should be starting games from no on in.

I'm really glad you cleared that up. After watching football for 10 years, I wasn't sure how league tables work..

I think a draw is most likely. That's not as good as a win but it does result in more points than a defeat.

We should and will win tomorrow I think, our recent form has been solid and the results will follow.

I think we should win tomorrow anything less would be a bad result for us as we need to go on a run of wins now to have any chance of getting a top 4 place this season. I would also like Miki to get a game tomorrow to see if he can continue his good form from Thursday night, i think his performance from the other night warrants a start tomorrow. I also hope Wayne Rooney can play and score tomorrow so he can equal Sir Bobby's all time club scoring record and maybe even break it, get it done and out of the way.

Here's a question, that I've an idea what the responses will be to this, but ask I will. With regards the bit in bold, do you think that over the past year or two this has been a bit of a monkey on Rooney's back? Whilst I'm sure most in the club and Rooney himself would suggest otherwise, I think it has been of sorts. I'm not saying his standard hasn't dropped, we know it has, but I think once he's passes the record we may see the shackles come off once more.

As I was writing this, I looked up his stats, thinking last season his goal scoring record had dropped and in fact he scored more than the previous season (by 1 goal). I was more shocked to see he's only scored 20 or above 4 times in his career. If he's chipping in with anything like his average of 15 goals a season (total) and others are scoring we'll be fine. That's however hasn't been the fact recently and it's something we need to improve.

I don't think that the record has any bearing on his form it's just a general decline. A case of the number of games he has played from a young age, injuries taking their toll along with the fact that I don't think he has looked after himself as well as he should. He has come back to pre season looking overweight on more than one occasion.

This league table doesn't exactly fill me with great glee at the moment, 19 points to 30 seems a little large.
