Jones is fine when he gets a run of games, that's never been an issue for me. The abilty is there.
Getting the run of games in the first place is the problem. |

I do think we have been genuinely unlucky in some matches but an earlier poster was right - it does come down to finishing ability as well. We just aren't taking the chances. We don't have an Aguero, Sanchez or Kane.

Without wishing to repoen the frankly tedious debate about dropped points, there's a fairly obvious difference between a draw at home to West Ham and a draw away at Liverpool.

He is just not doing on a regular enough basis, what we brought him into the club to do, score goals, and sometimes multiple goals in a match, he certainly has the ability. |

Surely Ibra should be at least considerd on a par or better than Kane??

Looking back at results this season did you know, in the Premier League, we've won just 2 games throughout the whole of September, October and November - Leicester & Swansea. I'm not sure but I'd bet United have never won just 2 league games in any 3 month period in the PL era before. It's amazing we're still 6th!

You're not comparing like with like. Zlatan is technically old enough to be Kane's father! Nobody can question his ability but, as good as he is, this is his swansong. Every team above us has players at their peak - we don't.

Apart from a couple of seasons with RVN, one with RVP and another with Ronaldo over the past 30 years United have never really had a striker that's out scored the rest of the team. It's been a collective job with people scoring within 5 or 6 goals of each other. That has included a variation of 2,3 or 4 forwards and the midfield. That has meant our leading scorers has to get usually about 20 to 25 goals per year in all competitions, but right now even if Ibra gets to that tally and he may, we haven't got the supporting cast to get 15 to 20 goals from 3 or 4 more players.
Rooney has never contributed less than 14 goals in a season, but will Rashford, Martial, Miki and I guess now Rooney due to his new role on the bench all reach mid teens or more?? Ibra was never going to replicate his form in France over here this season, he might do better next year after a year of getting use to the league, but not this year at his age. Right now, I do think Jose will get it right, but it's going to be next season not this. This season should be about winning another cup competition, again to add to last year's winning season and to add to the team in the summer. The foundations are almost in place, I think we'll be on the look out for forwards in the next few windows to replace both Rooney, Ibra and possibly Martial (if the press reports are to be believed). |

I know that I should take any stat with a huge pinch of salt, but in our recent run of home draws, I read that we have had 91 shots, and scored just three goals from them, with a conversation rate of just 3.3%!
That is quite staggering to be honest, that is almost s complete turnaround from last season, where I don't think we had 91 shots all season! Just why are we finding it so difficult to do the hard bit and to put the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis?? Surely we have enough talented players in order to do so?? It is a bit of a mystery how we can have so many shots and so little goals from them. Perhaps José should just have sessions dedicated to just finishing? There has to be a way to get our players scoring goals again, as we are dropping far to many points in games where we really should be winning, and boy is it going to come back to haunt us come the end of the season! |

Totally different to LVG's team who were lucky to create 3 or 4 chances a game hence the Zombie like football. |

They they seem to need countless opportunities to score, it's not like it's hit and hope chances either but easy ones.
Totally different to LVG's team who were lucky to create 3 or 4 chances a game hence the Zombie like football. There has to be some way to change our luck or percentages in terms of chances taken, what that is, I am not so sure however, as I do believe that we do have good enough players that should be scoring multiple goals in a match, if given the chances (which they have been), they, for some reason or another, are just not taking them! That is the single most frustrating and annoying thing! In a strange and roundabout way, under LvG, we were I think more clinical in front of goal, as we were only creating one chance every three games or so, and we seemed to take it, whereas now, we seem to be scoring from one one every sixty or so shots! Madness! I have no explanation as to why the sudden turnaround in fortune, and it must surely purplex and annoy José and his staff as well. As a fan, one can only hope that our luck finally changes pretty darn soon. |

I think they were going to say , in the past you would have said luck plays no part in whether you win a game, when United were on those winning runs. Maybe they thought better of it . ![]()

Mourinho's not getting much luck, and neither are the fans.
The players, however, should be making their own luck. |

The players need a change in fortune that much is for certain, exactly how they make their own luck, does anyone know?!!
Ibrahimovic's misses against Liverpool and Stoke weren't 'unlucky', they were poor finishes. If the 'keeper makes a wonder save, like Heaton for example, then you could argue that Ibrahimovic was 'unlucky', but he did put it in a place that was reachable. |

It depends upon your definition of 'luck'.

Having 91 shots and scoring just 3 goals, in my book is unlucky, that is not normal, especially not with such high calibre of players at our disposal.
Perhaps the players are shooting too often. |

How many of those shots were ever going to realistically go in?
