Start of the half
End of the half especially if Shaw is injured. Antonio will roast Blind.

Yet again so many chances and not much to show for it

Oh well, looks like Shaw is finished for the night, pulled up right at the end of the half, limping badly as the whistle went. Martial is so desperate and is trying to hard, and has been woeful. It's been like watching Forlan during his barren spell.

As for the goal, I was shocked to see DDG playing as it's the EFL Cup, then as the minute silence started and the camera panned to him, he was certainly struggling after losing his friend in the plane crash. I do question if it was the right decision to play him.

Apart from that we are doing well again, just need to finish a few more of the chances.

I know Zlatan has scored but we really need some pace through the middle considering what we have elsewhere

Blind on for Shaw

Mkhitaryan is surely going to be a regular starter now

Now that's how to finish. Two great passes in that build up as well. Now let's see if we can hold this/increase it......

A lot of wasted chances but job done, as it should have been at the weekend.

Miki HAS to start against Everton.

Looks like he will have to break Bobby Charltons club goalscoring record against Zorya Luhansk in the middle of nowhere

I commented on Martial at half time, no where near the player he was from September to January last year, but those goals certainly helped him, you could see his game physically improve with a bit of confidence.

The plaudits will go to the attack and midfield, but I want to shout out for Rojo here. Not an awful lot to do, but he made one or two excellent challenges where he had to be very careful any slip ups and he could have been booked or worse, and both included foot races which he won.

We know why Rooney was booked, but what I will say is that Pogba was booked for diving, Jose sent off for the reaction to that booking and what happens tonight? A foul is given and our player booked for the reaction to the dive, it infuriating that the referee's are so inconsistent.

Nice cameo by Schwiny at the end, shame we don't follow the hockey rule of up to two assists on goals as his run and pass to Herrera for the final goal was class. I think the fan reaction to him was more to do with how nice he's been since he got here and how well he's coped after Jose's comments, he does seem a class act, even though the rumours are he's hardly ever in town.

He really is, Mourinho has to start him in the league games now. I thought we were fantastic tonight although i did worry when they equalised i thought it would be same again after the last few league games. So pleased Schweinsteiger got a bit of game time hopefully it is a sign of things to come. I just hope we can transfer our cup form to the league now.

Brilliant tonight. Absolutely brilliant.

Scary that we are still not firing at full potential up front and still got 4!!!

I'm still of the opinion however that Valencia is our Player of The Season so far. If only we had a dedicated RB to unleash him in his rightful place.

That was a lot more like it. If we are going to be a cup team this season, I'll take that, though I think there's more on the table for us if all the players stay fit.

I was trying to think of any starting player that had a poor game tonight and I couldn't, they were all 7 or above. And some of the football was sublime. Considering all the diverse issues surrounding players like Jones, Rooney, Mikhi and Schwiny for starters and the fact we have consistently been playing our best football since SAF retired, I think the jury is no longer out on Jose. He's still got and so has his team.

Definitely, as much as I like Mata unless were playing him as a 10, Miki is the better option as an inside playmaker

I'd possibly give DDG a 6 if only for the mistake on the goal, but as I said at half time I'm not sure it was the right thing to have him playing. I don't think playing Romero would have made any difference to the score.

Mata v Miki on Sunday? It's an interesting situation, Miki has done well in the last two games he's played, and is slowly integrating himself into the team, whilst being a fan of Mata's when he doesn't play well he's totally of the game, and you never know when that spell of games going to start with him. However, what concerns me about Miki and Sunday, it's an away day in what is normaly a red hot atmosphere, yes he's got to deal with that at some point, I'm wavering on if now is the right time?

It's going to be an interesting team selection on Sunday, what with Pogba back, Martial at least retaining a spot in the 17 you have to wonder who'll be left out.

He could quite easily start Mata and Mkhitaryan, what with Rooney being suspended.

And I'd expect Pogba to replace Carrick, purely because of Carrick's age.
