So a few weeks back I talked about Zlatan's performances, i'll now say they have improved. If he isn't scoring his game seems to nose dive, so it's certainly good he's in the goals right now.

Another solid team performance and a clean sheet. No matter what people have said about individuals in the past, but all the sums of the part that make up our defence are doing very well. Dealing with the likes of Kane and Benteke with ease.
Wasn't there a story that Mour had a word in Ibra's ear about you don't come to England for a holiday. You come to prove yourself. He's certainly doing that. For 35 years old it's incredible. This could be the gamble that pays off.

They mentioned on TV last night that Pogba looks more assured on left of a midfield 3 with Carrick central. Alot of people had been saying this for months. So glad it's now been realised.

I also never thought in a million years that I'd keep the Jones and Rojo partnership. They're solid.

Which makes the Lindelof story being reported seem a bit odd.

The claim is that we've bid £38m to take him in January, when we could trigger his £30m release clause, if we waited until the summer.

I guess that Bailly going to the African cup, and the perennial fitness doubts over Jones, make having a bit more cover preferable, but it seems a lot of money for 'cover'. You'd expect him to be first choice, at that price.

Anyone know where the best place to park at now for a game as i am taking the kids down to their first game on Boxing day.
I haven't been down to a game for about 6 years and that was on the supporters bus.
There used to be loads of parking years ago before area was totally redeveloped.
If you get there early enough (as in at least an hour and a half before KO) you should get in on the roads to the south of the cricket ground and the tramline. My other suggestion would be park at Salford Quays and walk across (and if you have something to eat in one of the places around the Lowry, you don't have to pay to park there either).

Considering he was in and out of the side for so long Jones has been a revelation since his recent return. Although I have my heart in my mouth at times with Rojo he has had a good partnership with Jones and like Herrera looks like he enjoys playing for the shirt.

We do seem to have more characters within the team now which is good to see.

I hope Martial is given enough time to rediscover his form however especially with all the fixtures coming up.

It is excellent the way these two have together as a pairing and just dovetailed so well, it is certainly shows the difference between José and Pep in terms of being able to organise a solid defence.
I bet José could even makes Stones look half decent, which would be a huge step up from where he is at currently!

Bringing in another centreback now would be strange, as we are a bit overflowing in that position, especially with F-M, and Tunzabe also on the up from the youth ranks.

Certainly. Maybe a sign of the times?

With current TV rights maybe £30m is now back up pocket change!

I would still have Bailly as my first choice centre-back, with the others fighting to be his partner, so would we really need to spend £30 plus million, when we have so many good alternatives already here?

Seems a bit pointless really, if we were to do just that.

Yeah, you've probably got a point. I guess that we paid £30m for Bailly, who was supposed to be 'one for the future'.

He has done tremendous since he joined us, and is quickly making himself a must pick.

We have a season ticket for this car park - http://www.macmillan.org.uk/fundrais...-car-park.aspx , but you can pre-book a space on a match by match basis and the money goes to charity. It's a two minute walk to the ground from there.

There are also loads of places on Alex Ferguson Way/Wharfside which will happily take £5-£8 off you to park (although it's best to get there early).

I think that makes it worse to be honest. I can accept that kind of outlay on someone who might take a while to get to their peak and be a regular starter but if we're bringing in a second £30m player to fill that role then that's just excessive.

I agree, I would far rather use that sort of money elsewhere on the pitch, and if we are wanting to have more defensive cover use F-M more often, as the lad has a ton of potential.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has more Premier League goals at this stage of the season than any United player since Ruud Van Nistelrooy in 2002.

That is impressive, what is also good to see is his goals to to games ratio with us, is on a par with his time at AC Milan, and only behind his phenomenal time at PSG, which does bode well for the rest of the season hopefully.

Watching City beat Arsenal, is kind of frustrating, seeing as we should have beaten them as well, if I am allowed to say it, but it was I thought thought two points dropped against Arsenal.

Four points behind Arsenal now, with a few hopefully winnable games to come, the new year could be looking different than what it is now, if things go our way, although we do have to go above Spurs first and foremost.

The metrolink have several park and ride car parks worth looking at.

Not beating Everton just looks that bit more rubbish now.

Tbh they have a poor record against Liverpool anyway so I wouldn't be too downbeat. Last week they beat Arsenal.

Swings and roundabouts.

GRRRR! I had hoped for a draw at full time and got that, but with all that injury time, well...

Having said that, before the match I expected Liverpool to win so nothing's lost, I guess. It's just annoying.

Some pretty flaky stuff in The Telegraph, linking West Ham with a move for Rashford or Martial.

No chance of Martial going there, and I'm not sure that Mourinho would consider loaning out Rashford. Ibrahimovic can't go on like this, all season.

Just the usual January on the horizon stuff, Rushford is still an important player, and we didn't buy Martial to sell him this early on.

That was different in the sense that I don't think his heart and head was every truly with us, totally different to Martial, who enjoys being here, and is determined to make a success of things with us.
