Fair enough, that could always happen, and the players concerned would only have themselves to blame really, as José does have high standards, so they do need to play well to stay here.
Personally I do think it would be a shame if either went, but if for example, we sign Griezmann in the summer, something or someone will have to give, and it could very well be one of those two players.

I think that he'd ideally like to shift Rooney, and possibly even Mata. Depay is nailed on to go, too.

I take your point, but I don't think that there's a pressing need to bring in the cash. We'll get a hefty-enough chunk for Schneiderlin, Depay and whoever else is moved on.
To be honest, I'm not 100% convinced by Rashford, but he's so young that I think that it'd be foolish to sell him soon. I'd hate to see Martial go, but as you say, it's possible that Mourinho doesn't rate him too highly.

Rooney I think is gone this coming summer, although quite how much money we could get for him I am unsure, surely name value alone China would pay half decent money for.
Mata has become a key player for us, why would José get rid of him, although I suppose he was seen as a key player at Chelsea, and he still got rid, so who knows for sure.
About the only players not going anyway (even with Real Madrid getting their summer back) are De Gea, Bailly, Carrick, Miki, Ibra, Herrera, and Pogba, the rest, well I think they have their price, and we could be persuaded to sell for the right sort of deal.

You wouldn't want to lose either Martial or Rashford and risk them realising their potential elsewhere. A loan move for Rashford wouldn't be so bad if you weren't so short up front, unless Mourinho had a striker lined up in January. Otherwise you'd be left with Ibrahimovic, and Rooney, when he's played there. You're already pretty thin up top, I think.
It sounds odd but the Rashford one at least (as a loan deal) would make some sense if there was a striker getting bought around the 25-27 age mark. Someone like Griezmann seems unlikely in January, though. But even then you'd want Rashford still at the club, learning from Zlatan and new guy would be better than spending half a season losing at West Ham, but at least in that circumstance a loan would be justifiable.

All of the players 'have their price'. I can't imagine that Carrick or Ibrahimovic will be sold, simply because of their age, but the others could be.

Yeah, he's been underwhelming this season, and there's been a fair few stories about him in the press. I just hope that it gets sorted, because he's potentially top-drawer.

The stories making the rounds about us possibly looking for a club to get involved with, to loan out players, could come in handy for someone like Rashford (or looking ahead a bit further Gomes, and Chong) to get more minutes under his belt.
We are lacking options up front that much is for sure, it is why Ibra is having to play as often as he is currently, so until that changes, then I don't see us letting Martial or Rashford leave the club.

The players that I listed as being safe, I doubt have a price quite in the same way as those that I didn't list, they are our key players, and such I cannot see them moving anytime soon, no matter what is offered.

I mean, if you signed someone in January, I could see the logic in a loan for the rest of the season to someone like West Ham, but, really, he's best remaining at Man United, even if you sign someone. There'd be three first team strikers, plus Rooney, that'd be a decent balance, I think, especially with you still being in the Europa.
Zlatan's old, Rashford's young, both can't be played or relied upon all season. So even if another striker was bought in January, it'd still be beneficial for him and the club to NOT go out on loan in January. But, generally speaking, January's a tough transfer window to sign someone like Griezmann or Lukaku. With exceptions, top level strikers don't tend to move (unless for really big money) in January. Was Ronaldo not a 'key player'? Or Beckham? There are lots of reasons why they might be sold.
However, I agree that it's unlikely that the players mentioned will move this summer.

We managed to get Mata in January, but I agree that signing players in January is a tough window to do business in, and it is not really ideal anyway, as players generally need a settling in period.
We need someone in between Ibra's age and Rashford's age, to give that nice little bit of balance between all of the options available to us, quite who that player could be, I don't know.
You mention Lukaku and Griezmann, but I doubt very much that their respective clubs would sell them at this stage, not while they are still in the running to possibly win things.

At the time of his departure, Beckham was on his way out anyway, the relationship with Sir Alex I think was already at breaking point, so no matter his importance on the pitch, his time with us, was sadly coming to an end.
With Ronaldo, I think that there was some sort of deal behind the scenes, in regards to giving us one more year, then he can be sold, so again, nothing to do with his importance on the pitch.
Can you honestly say that about any of the players that I listed previously, that off the field dealings or feelings might impact their stay with us?
Of course one cannot predict the future too much (if at all), but all of those players do seem settled with us, and there doesn't seem much drama with them away from the pitch, so it would be odd or strange to see any of them leave the club.

Sorry I thought you meant the "lots of reasons" comment, in regards to the players that I mentioned rather than Becks or Ronaldo.
I don't see there being that much drama with our key players this time around, so I would genuinely be shocked if any of them were to leave in the summer.

It is not a question of getting you to bite, or anything like that at all, why would you think along those lines, we are having a nice conversation here, about a good topic, and I haven't done anything (I don't think anyway) to try and trap you inti something nasty have I??
As for your use of examples, yes I knew they were, hence why I was talking about them, and also the bigger picture, which is of us getting a player in the middle between Ibra and Rashford, which would benefit us in the long run I think.
Sorry that you feel this way towards me, hopefully one day on the future, you will change your mind, and we will be able to have a decent and well meaning, and constructive conversation again.

I could see Everton going for Schneiderlin and Memphis, though, and there's a good chance it'll happen. Schneiderlin permanently, Memphis maybe on loan, either with an option to buy or not.

You probably will have Coutinho back for that match I presume, so that might compensate for the loss of Mane somewhat.
As for us, I do think it will be a case of more "outs" than "in's" in terms of transfers, we have this lad coming from Benfica in defence by the looks of things, but beyond that, I don't see us being that busy with bringing players in.
