I wouldn't get too carried away, soon he'll remember that he's refereeing Manchester United and look to even it up.

That was never a red card no matter how much we stand to benefit....
I reserve judgement until I have been reminded exactly what the guidelines are in that situation - though have to admit that it was harsh albeit possibly technically correct. It may also make things harder for us to get the win as they and the crowd will be fired up with a feeling of injustice now for the rest of the game. |

They look a bit leggy to me, which was something I was worried about. However had we put THAT chance away things would be so different. How we didn't score I don't know, we have seen easy chances missed before, it was one of those moments where we'll see on highlight shows and gifs for a while.
As for the chance's it should have been scored, the only excuses you could offer, is that Valencia's body shape wasn't great and it came so quickly to him, and Lingard reacted quickly, sent the ball to the right place in terms of the post where the keeper couldn't get it, but got to much on scuffed shot. That's the only defence and that's tenuous |

Anyone seen what happened with Herrera close to half time to cause him to bleed? They haven't showed any replays on my feed. Saw a bit of a coming together, him hit the deck and waving his arms a bit then next thing they're showing him on the sideline with a cut.
Thought he might've caught an elbow or something. If he did and West Ham got away with one then fair enough to certain extent after the unjust red. Still, wouldn't mind seeing what happened there for clarification. |

Of course I'm happy, but those are two decisons I'd be going spare at if they had gone against us. Oh well, makes up for the goal Ibra should have got last week I guess....

Fantastic win, under a fair bit of pressure to get it as well.
That Ibra goal makes up for his one that was unfairly ruled out against Middlesbrough. Also, are we the only club that can win seven games in a row, and not move up a single position??! |

So after Mason's shocker against us on Saturday, Dean equals it out with a worse performance. It ruined the game for both sides, though he should have sent the player off in the second half regardless of the one in the first.
A win's a win and now we rest up and prepare for Reading. Was worried when Carroll came on, could see them getting a goal via a set peice or penalty, but we of course got the second goal. Thought Rashford did excellently when he came on, he needed that. A wise move from Jose, now both Martial and Rashford have a bit of confidence going into the second half of the season. |

Benefited from decisions but deserved to win. Rashford and Valencia were very good. Mata should be starting most games.

A sleepy performance from United combined with yet another refereeing nightmare, provides a somewhat fortunate result. Still, 3 points and a dose of good karma are not to be sniffed at. Onwards and upwards and all that.

Good win but not the greatest ever performance especially in the first half, Mourinho's substitutions changed the game as Mata and Rashford especially were superb and changed the game. 6 wins in a row in the league is fantastic. I think we are certainly improving even if we weren't at our best today, the true test will come against Liverpool in our next league game at Old Trafford but lets hope we can despatch Hull and Reading in the next 2 cup games first.
The Ref today was shocking, thankfully today we weren't on the wrong side of the decisions as we have certainly had our share of poor decisions this season but i can sympathise with West Ham today. I think the overall standards of officiating in the Premier League is shockingly bad. |

It's a tricky one, who do you drop for him? Miki has been excellent since he came into the team, and can them two play together?? I have expressed my views of on him previously, he's performing more and more, and not being invisible as much. I just think we stick with how it is for now, Mata can come in and out, and is a very useful sub.

Today? Lingard.
As I think our best midfield is now is Carrick, Herrera, Martial, Pogba, and one of those two players, personally I would select Mikitarayn. |

Doesn't matter who the opposition are or the circumstances, to win all of your games over Christmas is impressive. Wasn't pretty today but considering we played 2 days ago it was purely about the result. I would say give all the big players a rest on Saturday, but Reading are no mugs and are on a decent run themselves, and we need to maintain the momentum. |
