You dont think you can win the league this season

Dont you mean we wont win the league this season

You cant really think you can still win the league do you
I think the clue that he didn't think we could win the league is when he said he didn't think we could win the league. But I've been happy to clarify this for you.

6 matches ago, we were 6th. in the league and now we are still 6th.

On those statistics, no progress has been made. But...

Then, we were 9 points off the top 4, 10 points off 2nd. place and out in the wilderness. But now, it's a mere 2 off the top 4 and 5 off 2nd and we are snapping at the heels of the pack like an angry red devil.

Don't you just love football statistics.

If Spurs win we could be 10 points behind Chelsea, level on games played. I don't consider the title race over because of a 10 point deficit in January.

The funniest bit of Docherty's quote is when he said that Jose Mourinho would eat himself if he was made of chocolate... He lost me after that.

I'm gonna put it down to his age. Old age and bitterness make a very bad cocktail.

Great to see Arsenal drop two points against Bournemouth. That's what we like to see from you. That's why we love the Gunners.

The Sun are now linking Schneiderlin with Marseille.

It smacks a bit of French man + French club = 'SUNSPORT EXCLUSIVE!'.

Yeah I think it was mentioned somewhere last night, I remember hearing about that link, I can't see it being true if I am being honest, but anything to drive the price up is fine by me, if that is what happens in the end.

I doubt any of the top French clubs (excluding PSG and Monaco) would be willing to pay the kind of money that we're demanding for Schneiderlin. But I guess it depends on how much Marseille really want him, if the link is true of course.

I actually enjoyed the Bournemouth-Arsenal match tonight on SS1! Thought the ars were doomed at 3-0 down but dammitall, 3 goals in the last 20 Grrr. Still, another 2 points dropped by a rival, not a bad Christmas-New Year so far.

Think I want a draw in tomorrow's game. Probably.
I can't help thinking that we are still in with a shout at the title even though we really aren't.

Heart says Spurs win

Head says Chelsea

A draw it is then

Not really the ideal thing a Spurs win, as it does put them once more just that bit more ahead of us pointwise.

Just got to beat Liverpool and hope that our winning run is eventually rewarded.

I think that we all know the permutations. It's pretty basic maths.

Regardless of what it means for us, I can't not enjoy Chelsea losing.

Chelsea getting beat does bring something that I don't like saying or seeing, Liverpool are back in the title picture.

Just got to hope that we can push them out of it again, when we play them next in the league.

You're evidently fine with typing it though, so that's good.

I wanted Chelsea to lose. Small-time nonsense some United fans being terrified of Liverpool winning the title on what could be just a 2 point gap from us after the next game.

Yes, I know. As I said, it's just basic maths.

Wanting to beat Liverpool has little to do with their title prospects for me, at this stage of the season.

This defeat for Chelsea does mean that we are the most in form team in the league, so small comforts I suppose.

Do you not see the fact the team top of the league with a 10 point advantage on us and 3 difficult games coming up, lost?

Or is it just the form thing?

That's expecting him to see 'the bigger picture', and not just where we can be in the table, after the next game.

Yes I can see the bigger picture, and that this defeat opens up the table to a few more teams than if Chelsea had won the game.

They will have to rebound from this, and they do have a tough schedule looking at it, hopefully if we can maintain our current form, then we can put in a challenge.

That's expecting him to see 'the bigger picture', and not just where we can be in the table, after the next game.
Was there really such need for this manner of post?

Of course, as I said above, the future could look very different, in a very short space of time thanks to this result tonight.

Is there any 'need' for any post?

You've been going on about being frustrated at our lack of 'progress' up the league table, after every game for weeks.

That suggests that you're not looking at the bigger picture. It was only a few weeks ago that you were advocating binning the league off and playing the kids, in order to concentrate on the Europa League.

I also said that we needed to go on a wining run if at least sx victories in a tow to really put pressure on the sides at the time above us, which is what we have done, and so that to me is looking at the bigger picture.

Sam Johnstone has joined Aston Villa until the end of the season, I wonder if that is the start of a few players leaving us this window (either permanently or temporarily)?
