I think Man United will hang on
Well you were right, though i thought we would blow it especially when Payet got that free kick near the end also thank god for De Gea some important saves. We played well tonight Rashford is going to be some player if he keeps this up although we still need a striker or two in the summer Rashford certainly has given us another option that is for sure. I never thought we would win tonight but LVG certainly has more lives than a cat just hope we can win the cup now it is so long since we did it and it is about time we won the FA Cup again. I hope we win the Cup and LVG retires gracefully, just hope that if we do win the Cup it doesn't mean we are stuck with him for another year.

Great stuff.

Ruined West Ham's big night, with the nation willing us to lose with the BBC in the role of chief cheerleader. Their coverage tonight was an absolute disgrace.

Good result. I reckon West Ham actually may have been a bit complacent! They started off very well and probably thought they had the beating of man united.

Rashfords has looked the business since I watched his debut.

Van Gaal has an amazing talent for pulling a result out of his arse.

Again DDG shows everyone just how good he is, I'm still a little puzzled as to how he wasn't one of the 6 nominations for player of the year, regardless of how bad the team in front of him has been.

Felt Herrera was a little in and out of the game tonight, but that's the only slight moan. Thought the back 4 were superb, that includes Rojo. He was taken off at the right time, though the problem then was not long after his departure TFM took a knock and also started to suffer from a bit of cramp it looked like. I know that when I suggested he'd get some squad time this year, I was mocked last summer and to be honest were it not for injuries he possibly wouldn't have played these past few weeks, but he's looking as big as talent as anything we've got. Rashford will get the plaudits for the goals etc, but TFM is a monster.

The two players most complained about did well tonight, Fellaini and Lingard put in decent performances, and whilst nothing flashy certainly did the job. For once I had to agree with Keown (I'm going to have to drink something strong because of this), but Lingards only issue is perhaps his finishing, but he's doing enough to justify his place in the team.

I think the only thing of LVG I'm looking forward to is his post season speech if we win the cup, it will make last years look tame.

I know he is turning into Arsene Wenger, he has been doing it for the last 10 years, just doing enough to survive at least with LVG we know that he will be gone in May 2017. Wenger could go on forever as there is talk of him signing a new deal until at least 2019 it must be a never ending torture for the Wenger Out brigade.

Due to a lack of better options, not due to his actual talent or effectiveness

Followed by his resignation at the end of it......

Rashford and Martial are future World Beaters.

Lingard is future West Bromwich.

If i was Van Gaal i would play Rashford in every game from now until the end of the season but it would be hard to leave Rooney on the bench

Harsh!

I think he's a good squad player though.

It's the same thing that's kept Mata in the team for long periods of the season as well. His link up play with whom ever he's playing with is always good and he causes problems for the opposition and unlike others in the club will at least track back and defend.

Bittersweet victory if it keeps LvG in a job.

Glad to get it though.

Is it pathetic though? Home team, weight of history and all that. And we had loads of these nerve shredders under SAF.....
Aw come on MP, the context of this within the Van Gaal season is totally different to hanging on in an odd game under Sir Alex as we march to another title.

The point is we are lauding a semi-decent performance and result that we did our damnedest to chuck away from 2-0 up.

The result itself it what it is and thats good but there is still so much wrong but yet again Van Gaal pulls a result out at the last knockings making you wonder why it only happens when the sacking is imminent in the media.

Rashford looks the business but I'm cautious.....so did Januzaj over a short period.

If the level we are seeing from him so far is the level he can play at he will be a first team regular next season because thats what top young players do - they force their way into teams.

Fair enough. I suppose I'm not alone in having my once-high expectations ground down by the last couple of years. Please god if we do win the cup the board see it as as chance to let LVG go out on a high instead of continue on a low......

I think you've already had enough doubles.

Rashford has looked far more comfortable at first team level than Januzaj, so I have much more fair in him staying the course so to speak.

Yeah, hopefully he can go out on a high, depending on the next two games of course.

I hope Di Marzio is right with this one (Jose).

Danny Mills thinks Rashford should go to the Euros ahead of someone like Sturridge, and says he could be like Michael Owen in 1998...

Sometimes I think DS is bad for knee-jerking. And it is. But then you get these people...
