I'm a bit annoyed that Noble wasn't booked for the Herrera incident. Yes you can say it was amusing but in principle an opposition player shouldn't be allowed to arbitrarily make the decision that the player receiving treatment is time-wasting, that's the referees call.

Notwithstanding the potential for escalation. If Herrera would have swung an arm or inflicted damage by kicking backwards whilst in the air it could have got nasty.

I wonder when LvG was at Barcelona, he helped to get Xavi started in their first team, and then at Bayern with Muller, other managers reaped the dividends from those decisions, is he doing the same thing here with Rashford and maybe to a lesser extent Mensah?

Anyway we played well last night, I was delighted they proved Shearer and Joe Cole wrong. Rashford looks to be a real proposition and if developed properly could be a star. And I agree with others, that tosser Noble should have been booked for manhandling an injured player off the pitch.

You have obviously forgotten the impact Januzaj made at the beginning.

I remember Januzaj and his impact and the clamour for him to play for England rather than Kosovo or wherever it was. He was a good tricky player but I didn't think he looked like he would be a world star as he was being made out to be.. Very lightweight and extremely over hyped.. IMHO of course

Agreed, I don't ever remember this level of hype over Januzaj. Nor did he perform at the same level Rashford has in terms of consistency - what is it, 6 goals in 12 games? And a couple of corkers in there too. He's only 18 so of course we have to moderate our expectations, but if Martial and him keep developing at the rate they have been, they could be the attacking backbone of this team for the next decade.

Definitely don't think he should go to the Euros though. We need to shield him from the inevitable poisonous fallout there will be from England's exit.

Anyway, two totally different types of player.
Rashford is a natural goalscorer. His technique to me indicates that anyway.

Rashford has scored 6 in 12 games but you could also say he has scored 2 in 10 which is no different to Wilson and Macheda really. Now rashford looks better, stronger, more direct, and a decent finisher that is hopefully only going to get better but sayi he should go to the euros is far too early for him.

Also, I think people are using the benefit of hindsight with Januzai. When he first made his impact in the first team people were calling him the best youngster in the world, the man to save David Moyes, clamouring for him to be called up by England etc.... The fact he has dropped like a stone now is making people forget what happened.

Er no I have not, the Sunderland match and the goal and the technique that it required was superb, however he did have matches where he was not at those high standards, and that was understandable.

Januzaj did make an impact at the beginning under Moyes, but Rashford I would suggest has done equally as well, if not more than that so far.

Any talk for him to go the Euro's is waaaaaayyyyyy too early, if anything he should go to the next Under 21 international tournament, as the Euro's have come just too early in his development.

Still think that Rashford is too raw to be relied upon, full-time.

Decent finisher, nice turn of pace, bit of skill about him, but his first touch isn't great and he's a bit too lightweight, for me. Given time, he could be quality, but it's too early to be getting the Kleenex out.

So you have forgotten. If you look at the post I was commenting on you would see that I was referring to the fact that he burst on the scene and then died away so based on Rashford bursting on the scene I feel a little uneasy about getting too excited because we saw what happened with Januzaj.

I hope the incident is in the referee's report and if it is, I think the FA will have to take disciplinary action for manhandling an opponent and also for putting him at risk of injury given the circumstances. They won't risk that kind of behaviour spreading.

Great result by the way, but it could so easily have gone the other way in spite of our overall dominance... simply because West Ham's dominance, albeit for shorter periods was more intense than ours! I said before the match that I disagree with those who wanted us to lose to get rid of LVG and the reason is simple: I think the decision to keep or get rid of him was made some time ago. Anyway, he could surprise us all if he's still here next season, who knows?

Completely agree with this assessment. He's obviously talented though some of the talk I've been hearing about him being the future at this club or going to the Euros is incredibly premature.

It may be that I am simply an old f*rt, which is true, but I used to love going to the FA Cup semis on a neutral ground. I saw Everton v United at Burnden park (can't remember the year), I saw United v West Ham at Hillsborough, I saw City at Villa Park. Now with two Northern clubs, everybody has to travel 200 miles, with all the extra expense and travel involved. I would love to see the old system, but my mate disagrees, he says it's a good day out, and a chance for more people to see their team at Wembley. Great if you support Arsenal, or Chelsea etc., but doesn't seem fair to me.

Obviously would want to see him gradually eased in over the next few years, rather than too much too soon, but i think i can spot a top quality player when i see one and i think this pup is going to be the bee's knees.

Januzaj was heralded as the second coming by many, but i always thought he was a bit wimpy and wouldn't come to much. Also can't see Memphis doing much for us, gone in a couple of seasons.

Don't forget over night accommodation, as is being suggested by Virgin trains, as the last train is something like 9pm, and with the match possibly finishing as late as 8.30, they are suggesting people try and stop over. What they are failing to consider is that whilst they are only suggesting this due to improvements to the West Coast Line, the London Marathon takes place the next morning, and so how many hotel spaces will be left? Time for both Everton and United to step up, and provide coaches galore like they used to.

Don't they run special trains any more? They always used to, why wouldn't they do it for this match, an opportunity to make some extra dosh!

Rashford is going to end up as a very good squad player, we'll bring in a couple of top level strikers over the next couple of year, and he'll be 3rd or 4th choice at the most.

Football special trains are quite rare, if not extinct. Virgin are claiming the FA knew about the works on the network but still scheduled the games as such. I have to say it's a bit difficult with the marathon on the Sunday, imagine the issues with all the people trying to get home from running that, plus all the football fans. I doubt they'd be able to cope that well.

The thing is it's all the time. Every time a north west club reaches Wembley for some game or other, the rail networks are always doing some sort of improvement and the fans end up having to stop over or find alternate travel arrangements. It's another reason as to why they should have perhaps built the "national" stadium in Birmingham. It wouldn't mean as much travel mess for fans.
