Logging on now means wading through 5 pages of crap then finding 3 or 4 decent posts which then descend into the usual "Ya boo Utd are rubbish"
I agree Jo. I find the posts too often relentlessly negative as on the Arsenal thread. Our teams are third and fifth and not 13th or 15th where they have been within my footballing memory. I was born in 1966 and started going to football in 1974.

To be fair, against a team that's as bad as Villa have been this season, even United - playing at home - should not only beat them but do it convincingly - with lots of shots on goal with a few going in!

Not to do so, as you say, would sum up life under Van Gaal.
Of course you need a Chelsea win as well today.

Lingard's benched as well.
That's not such a big deal, in my eyes. Memphis starting?

I was born in 1975, and started going to football in 1985.

Sexton and Atkinson each had one season where they might have won the league and beaten Liverpool. I recall the early weeks of 78/79 season and mufc had so many draws and could barely score a goal.
Yeah, my point was that we've become so used to success that finishing 5th or whatever and possibly winning the FA Cup is seen as failure. I still remember losing the FA Cup to your lot and thinking that was as closest a trophy as we'd ever get. None of us (excluding you and other non-fans) want to go back to those days.

Jesus.

Unless he's got a knock, that's lunacy.
The split with his wife became official this week so maybe he's giving him a breather.

I wasn't trying to imply anything with my reference to my early years as a United fan. If anything, I'd love to chop a decade or so off my age for non- footballing reasons!

I get after a bad result people are peed off but it's the same shite over and over from some. To me it's really that easy....don't do it anymore if it's that bad.

What for? Top 4? i don't think United will get top 4 anyway. City will want to make sure Pep doesn't suffer the indignity of going to his new job and not being in the Champions League, I would think!

Besides, United aren't good enough, the way Van Gaal plays them.

Of course that was the only trophy Arsenal won for ages. All other finals were lost by Terry Neill's men. 1977 da cup won by mufc. Tragedy that Mr Docherty blotted his copybook.

Hmm, guess that makes a bit of sense.

Good. Time for him to put a performance in (Memphis that is. We all know what we'll get from Valencia).

Not all mufc results have been bad this season. I think the two North London results were the worst. I was disappointed to see certain folk on this thread say earlier this season that the season was over and even that more poor results would force Lvg out. It's like saying voting only encourages the buggers.

These last 5 minutes have been diabolical and if Villa were merely terrible instead of rancid, they'd have equalized.

Man Utd will probably win but they should be thumping a squad as poor as this one.

Well I don't think Sky will be bothered with this as their Game of the Day!

I told you Mark Lawrenson was deluded to think United could score 3 goals!

Another boring, dire, turgid game by the sound of it.

Remember 3 years ago today? (well, it was the 22nd, actually!) when we were 3-0 up in 33 minutes? Blimey, those were the days. We won the title that day so it was definitely another era.

40 PL goals this season. Dire. I think it was reported that City had scored 40 goals at home, the other week.

A win is a win.

But only 1 goal is embarrasing against that lot.

Mate of mine who's there just sent me a text on leaving saying it was turgid and we're lucky Villa didn't equalise.
