Agree, but I think Jay and Aliona more than deserved their 40 for that final paso IMO
Its an OK dance but not a memorable one, I think the judges would have wanted to score his Jive a 40.and I still don't understand why they choose not to do it. The only dance in that last round which deserved a 40 was Georgia and Giovanni's Charleston

Can't agree with you. The judges marks were ridiculous on the night. Thought the paso should have scored a 40, but it doesn't really matter now since they won, end of.

I was quite happy with the pairings this year especially Helen and Aliaz and Jay and Aliona. It would have been interesting to have changed a few though.
I think Kellie might have been a bit calmer with Giorgio and Georgia a bit more interesting with Kevin.
I think Peter would have reached his potential with Joanne and Janette could have been rested.
I would have also liked to have seen what Gleb could have done with Katie .I couldnt imagine Anita with Anton though

Hmm see that's were you and me would disagree I will forever remember that paso it's actually one of the dances that actually reminded me of an actual Latin paso, nothing too showy but still had the impact and I'm extremely thrilled that Jay and Aliona chose not to do their Jive in the final as they rightly reserved that for the tour. I think that's what Georgia and Giovanni failed to accomplish on tour they played that charleston too many times I think people just didn't get it on tour hence why so many reports about that dance not really going down a storm. Not wanting to sound harsh but my opinion

Well yes where were those ten's for Georgia's Rumba and Showdance

I would have liked to have seen Jay get a 40 and he would have for his Jive, his most well known dance

A tour that only a small number of Strictly fans saw. Yes he should have got a 40 but in the final you have to bring out your big guns. His most memorable dance was the Jive and I felt sad not to see it again. They won and deserved to because they got the most votes, which is all that counts.

I would have liked to see Kirsty with a pro other than Brendan - who I don't think suited her rather tense personality - she might have done really well with Aliajz or Kevin or Pasha who seem to be much more patient as teachers.
I will miss Tristan this year - he was great on ITT also. I would like to see how well he would have done if he had got a 'ringer' like Helen or Kellie or Georgia. Actually I's like to have seen him paired with Kellie as he would have complemented her hyper personality with his laid back more relaxed personality.
I wouldn't change Jay and Aliona as that was a magic combination.
Natalie and Ainsley were good combination too as were Jeremy and Karen.

I think some of the partnerships ( eg. Jaliona, Carol and Pasha.) were the perfect matches but I'll do this under the rule that everyone had a new partner.

Iwan and Karen
Anthony and Aliona
Daniel and Janette
Ainsley and Kristina
Kirsty and Anton
Carol and Brendan
Jeremy and Natalie
Jamelia and Gleb
Peter and Ola
Helen and Tristan
Anita and Kevin
Katie and Pasha
Kellie and Giovanni
Georgia and Aljaz
Jay and Oti
