When i heard she was joining the show i thought she was going to be like her character in Coronation Street but actually she is nothing like and she playing a great part I always thought she was a good actress and her part Hollyoaks has proved that she is one of the best soap actresses around at the moment Her character Joanne has so many layers and you sre always wondering what she is going to next and im only watching yhis show because of her

I agree, Rachel is a very good actress and one of the few interesting characters in Hollyoaks at the moment. When Joanne appears on screen I go tense! With her tendency to leap in front of vehicles you just don't know what crazy thing she is going to do next, so Rachel is definitely doing a good job and quite lucky that she gets half-decent scripts!

What is interesting is, she was the original soap Gloved Hand Killer in early episodes of Holby City! I've tried to unearth episodes of her stint as killer nurse Kelly but can't find any! Lindsey is nothing compared to Kelly, not helped by Sophie Austin's laughable portrayal of a villain! Sadly, I think Joanne is on borrowed time, but hopefully I'm wrong and she may as well remain in the village with all the other nutters, she fits in perfectly!

I'm loving Joanne! I love the drama she brings, she's really fun to watch, you never know what she's gonna do next. I hope she'll be around for a really long time.

I agree. She is a very good actress and is one of the very best things about an otherwise weak Hollyoaks right now. At first, I did not like the idea that Louis had an affair in the past because I was hoping the Lovedays would be an actual solid marriage on the show, but I'm glad it brought Rachel to the show.

Am I in the minority then? I think her character is one-dimensional and boring. Her constant puppy dog following around of Louis is boring and I fail to see what her character brings to the show. Now it appears she's delving into the tired old cliche of blackmailing Lisa/Sonia to get her own way and stay at the Lovedays again, so it will be more Louis chasing from her

Her Corrie character was just getting interesting when she left. That was a real missed opportunity on their part.

She is amazing. I'm so happy with the character right now. She is being labelled this massive bunny boiler, but I can see soap super bitch in her - the way Rachel plays her is quite cunning at times and even I have trouble figuring out if she is being genuine or up to something. She can cry at the drop of a hat too..

I agree with this post, I think Rachel is a great actress and plays Joanne really well.... subtle but with a glint in her eye. I hadn't seen any of her previous acting roles before, but remember being impressed straight away. I'm hoping she stays around for a while, as she's not outlandishly crazy & dramatic like Sienna or Grace but just enough to make the character interesting. It is true.... we're not quite sure what she might do next, but I think she genuinely is in love with Louis. It'll be interesting to see if she interacts with more characters in the show so she can become more integrated in the show. She's one to watch over the next few months I'm sure

I've not been completely won over by the story. Though they'd be mad to let someone like her go. I thought her admitting to not having any family made her quite a sad character and its something they should work on to make her more likeable. It would be a shame if this ends in some Fatal Attraction scenario.

Nikki Sanderson, Alex Fletcher, Ruby O'Donnell, Stephanie Davis(recent departure I know), Jacqueline Boatswain, Nadine Mulkerrin, Zoe Lucker are also good.

But that's exactly what it is. She's a bunny boiler.

Rachel is a fab actress, glad Hollyoaks is using her full potential as she was wasted on Corrie.

I'm glad they've shoved her at the fore-front of the show. I think she's fantastic and I hope she sticks around.

I'm really not seeing it. She's not the worst by any means, but she's not particularly gifted either, from where I'm sitting.

I quite like her too. I wonder if her knowing James amounts to anything? Maybe they team up to be evil together.

Yes! I really like James, you can see why they would be friends same job and both manipulative, was happy when they bumped into each other knew one another

I love Rachel and I love Joanne but I wouldn't seeing get involved with some of the other characters in the village rather than just the Lovedays, I'd like for her to actually settle down in her own apartment in the village and get involved with other characters and storylines and hopefully away from being constantly involved with the Lovedays

I know but those glimpses of seeing how lonely she is could be developed to help redeem her. I think she'd do well to be given a relationship like Cindy and Dirk. An unlikely man who gives her the consideration and attention she craves from having no family.

If indeed that's even true.

She's a brilliant actress and you can see that but the character and story isn't doing her justice.

Totally agree, although her Corrie exit was fabulous.
