He says he will not be returning. Such a shame. I'll miss him especially on ITT.

He says this on his fan site :

The question everyone is asking - Do you know if you will be coming back to Strictly?

No, I won't be going back. I think over the time I have been there I have realized more and more that it is not for me. I think the show needs someone a lot different to me on the show to get what they want, and I need something a lot different to make me happy and get what I want out of it. I think there will be a lot of changes on the show, and I have enjoyed it for the most part but right now I just need a break from it all. This kind of goes hand in hand with the other question in that you can do whatever it is you want to do but when you have to start doing things you don't, then you have to decide if it’s for you or not. You can be a dancer or you can be a dancer on a tv show and with that comes a whole other bag. It can be fun, but I’d sooner leave it as it is then spend all my time complaining about it.

What a shame. I thought he was brilliant on the show and especially on ITT last year. Any second now they can rename the whole thing Strictly Come Burn The Floor..........

And that will be the day that Strictly dies....

Gutted. He is lovely, and has such a refreshing attitude to it all. I'm not surprised, though, given some of his comments in recent interviews. Got the impression that he wasn't at all happy with how the last series had gone, and some of the production decisions that were made

That is so sad I really liked him.
He didn't seem at all happy with his partner last year and seemed almost relieved when they got eliminated - so I guess no big surprise !

I think his unhappiness is with TPTB not his partner.

From Macmaniacs again:

Every season on DWTS and SCD has challenges, but what was the biggest challenge for you on SCD in 2015?

I think for me the biggest challenge each season and every episode is fitting into what the producers want to happen and trying to compromise your ideas and work. I understand it has to happen but it's hard when that becomes the priority. Sometimes you have to play 'the role' you don't want and it can be frustrating when everyone isn't privy to it. That's the nature of the show though and some work with it and some fight it, but I just think if you are going to be judged (more so by the audience) it should be your work and your work and ideas alone that are being judged.

I think him and Jameila really got on.
I won't watch next year now losing him and Aliona is too much.

Boooooo I shall miss him. His determination not to behave as if the whole thing wasn't a matter of life and death but even more important than that!! was a refreshing change and he was hilarious on ITT

cant say I'm surprised though given the shenanigans of last year

I'm not surprised, dare I say, I don't think he'll be missed by the average viewer. It's a shame we're losing an Irish dancer though, their accent

I'm excited for new pros!

I have to sort of agree with you. His choreography wasn't great, neither was his dancing, on both DWTS or SCD. Being a pro on Strictly is hard work, and takes a lot of effort. Tristan never looked to me as if he could be bothered to put in the effort required.

This.

I'm not saying he's not a good dancer, but he's had two series now and hasn't really made that much of an impression. I also think Jamelia had a lot of potential that he didn't make the most of, we saw how good she could be in the group dances.

So that's Ola, Aliona, Kristina and Tristan gone so far. We should be getting at least three new pros, four if Joanne isn't given a celeb again.

I love Tristan and he was very funny on ITT and he had great chemistry with Aliona but I don't think that his 'can't be arsed' attitude would have gone down too well when pro's and contestants alike are supposed to enthuse ever more over the show.

I don't really think he'll be much of a loss, he never really seemed to make much impact. I hope they take on Neil Jones and his wife!

Not surprised but gutted. I loved his attitude, not taking it too seriously. He was so funny on ITT and really showed his true personality.

Not really sure he could have done much with Jennifer, she was not a natural.

To be honest I'm not that bothered; it's a shame he was kept on instead of Trent

My feelings although the Trent situation was complicated by his Gordana Whiddon ...

It was Trent's choice to leave when they didn't invite his wife to become a pro. BTW, Tristan has done Burn the Floor as well, and apart from Anton and Brendan the only pro who isn't a BTF/DWTS international franchise alumni is Giovanni.

If I were a betting person I'd put money on Neil and Emma Slater joining the pro line up this year. Neil answered me on Twitter during the last series, I didn't know who he was at the time but was so excited when I found out
