It wont bother me in the slightest as I haven't had time to get to know him!, the first year he was out on the first week and then last season he had Jamelia who I really didn't like at all so never bothered taking any notice of them!.... So all in all I don't care!......

Disappointed but not surprised, watching him on ITT last series he seemed fed up with the format and some of the production decisions. He and Jamelia were an absolute scream on there in their interviews.

I loved what he said at Blackpool about being there to teach and if he'd passed something on he was happy, words to that effect. One of the few pros not out to gain any personal celebrity. And the hottest male pro by far Wish him well.

I so agree with this. He had looks and the personality, which was evident on ITT. Will miss him.

Think it's time Brendan and Anton were going too.

Very disappointed by this news. Very few pros left that I care about.

he deserved at least one good dancer before he left.

I'd like to see more American pros. Janette is the only American one atm. Think they'll bring in a American make pro. I'd like that

Yes they are getting fewer and fewer. Aljaz is the only one left I like.

I'll give all new pros a chance but they have been quite hit and miss in recent years. I love Oti and Giovanni. Other than that I like Natalie and don't mind Karen. Aljasz, yes! Pasha is OK too.

Of the pros left I like Aliajz, Janette, Oti, Natalie.
I would like to see less Cliftons also - their behavior prior to and on the Final night was disgraceful - two Cliftons is the max that should be allowed in any competition.

I think Brendan should be let go - his comments about Aliona were 'below the belt'

They need to sort out all the obvious favoritism and unfair treatment that was on display this year - (the Pete Andre debacle - attitude towards Jay in the Final - ignoring illegal lifts in Kellies routine, picking Katie over Anita for the final so as to get Anton to the final etc etc)
If they don't sort that out then they will lose viewers..like X Factor did

Katie performed better than Anita in the dance off so that was fair.

Very disappointed by this news, but not massively surprised. Huge respect for Tristan though to actually say, I'm walking away from this because its not what makes me happy. How many people would put up with all the crap SCD throws at them for financial reasons, to increase their 'brand value'?

I think things like this highlight that there IS a problem at Strictly Towers, the show is losing a bit of its sparkle and being overly manipulated. If pro dancers start giving up on it then that needs to be sorted out, although I doubt those up top will care.

I hope Tristan does well with whatever he's up to, he seems a nice, funny, down to earth bloke.

I think if he had been a better teacher Jamelia would have been considered a good dancer.

I liked Tristan away from the show, but was underwhelmed with his work with his celebs. I don't think he's a massive loss. I think we knew he was leaving anyway - didn't he move to Oz or something? Maybe I'm mistaken but I didn't think it sounded like he was going to commit for months on end.

Have just seen his wife is pregnant, lovely news! I can definitely see why he wouldn't want to commit to another Strictly run and have virtually no family time.

It's a pity Tristan is going - such a nice, patient man. Credit to him that he took teaching his celebrity to dance so seriously.

And so funny on ITT - such a sense of humour

The combination of Tristan and Aliona on ITT could be absolutely hilarious.

He also didn't seem to take it all too seriously - makes for a 'lighter' show, and Strictly is light entertainment!

There may be some projection here. Tristan did a couple of years on DWTS, before his stint on SCD - the latter would hardly be a shock to his sensitive system. I quite liked him as a person on ITT, but can't remember a memorable piece of choreography from him.

I'm going to hold on to hope that he'll be on the Australian DWTS, at least for one series, though he probably doesn't want to.

They just find new Pro's, if Tristan is not happy with being on the show that's his decision. Of course those on top won't care, bottom line the show is successful, and is a feel good TV to watch at the end of the year. All the Pro's have a shelf life and all will go (even Anton) eventually.

Nice enough person but I do remember him saying that teaching was not his thing and this showed in his choreo ( to me ). I cant remember any particularly memorable dances from his partners.

Huh? I think he said the opposite, didn't he?

Me too. He's currently touring with a Mrs Browns Boys play (Australia and New Zealand) playing a Mormon missionary

Hope everything works out well for him in the future.

Agreed, but somehow some still can't let that one go.

Hmmm...so the folks at puredwts were correct ( once again) with their inside scoop .
Not surprised and I love his reply. I've said it before but imo he isn't a good fit for shows like dwts or strictly. ....and in some ways it does and did a disservice to his celebrities.

I really like him as a person but I didn't care for him as a pro. I wish him the very best

I have to sort of agree with you. His choreography wasn't great, neither was his dancing, on both DWTS or SCD. Being a pro on Strictly is hard work, and takes a lot of effort. Tristan never looked to me as if he could be bothered to put in the effort required.
I concur; this has been my biggest issue with him. Lovely man but I won't miss him.
