Also agree - remember Tristan from years ago and whilst a lovely person and great fun also remember his teachers frustration that if he had put more work in would have achieved much more and I felt on the show he was doing this again - just doing enough and no more

I'll miss him on ITT.

I Agree Katie really improved in the DO and Antia didn't, given there was only 1 point in the 2 dances to start with had Katie done with the Waltz what she did in the DO she got 31 Anita got 32 for the dance she did. Katie would have scored more than this maybe 34-36 if she did in the live show what she did in the DO putting her higher than Anita so yeah all in all Katie did deserve to go through as she improved and didn't make any mistakes Anita made them and didn't improve in the DO like Katie did

And I didn't like Tristan so don't care that he has gone. Only Anton Brendan, Aliaz Pasha Oti and Karen (in small doses) that I like now Kristina and Aliona have gone. I know the producers said they were wanting to get rid of 3 or 4 pros this year but if those are not the pros that have left maybe the producers should wait another year to make the cut otherwise they would be getting rid of potentially 8 pros in one go which is like half the line up and that would be ridiculas in one go

I think the show will especially miss Aliona and Kristina who were both excellent dancers - I loved Tristan on ITT and in fairness to him he didn't really get celebrities who had a chance of winning either of the 2 years he was on the show.
Ola was great in the past but she let herself down and caused some difficulties behind the scenes so I won't miss her - am actually disappointed in her.
Kevin on on GMB this morning and hinted that he and Karen were thinking of starting a family (well talking about it) so maybe no Karen this year…..they are both 33 so it is most likely a consideration for them. In that case Joanne would probably slot in - 3 Cliftons would be too much.
I would like to see Brendan gone too but not sure that will happen though - I always feel a bit sorry for his celebrity partner - just my opinion so don't' 'shoot me down' for saying that

Neil has admitted to wanting to be on Strictly, but - only my personal opinion - I feel he should concentrate on his competitive career a bit longer.

Well it did but they speculated a few weeks ago that he might not continue on strictly this year . It was in one of their "pros in or out for dwts 2016 thread".

Hi Bendy - hope things are good with you? I agree about Tristan. I saw him dance a couple of times, though honestly can't remember where or when, and even then I thought his heart wasn't really in it. I can remember though, someone saying they thought Tristan seemed as if he liked the idea of being a dancer, but didn't like the idea of putting the necessary work in to be that successful. Just an opinion, I'm not saying it is fact.

I like Tristan but wasn't overly impressed with him on either DWTS or Strictly. On DWTS, I liked how he was with the Anton-style contestants he was paired with, but now, after having seen him with Jamelia, I realise it wasn't solely because of his celeb partners that he was a bit lacklustre. Nice guy, but didn't really make much of an impact.

Have to agree with this. I LIKED the fact he wasn't too bothered about the 'celeb' side of SCD. Thats what made him more likable.
And those saying he is not a good dancer....so wrong. he was awesome.

Anyway what are we left with? Gleb loving himself and Giovanni probably picking up another new girlfriend. Nope, the next season is not for me.

Good luck Tristan.

Not overly surprised as I felt if a male pro was going he would be the fall guy.

I was willing to give him a free hit after the first year as he was given a duffer, and I had been disappointed with his partnership with Rachel in the Christmas special that year, but it was only one dance so I wanted to see how he would get on with a longer run. I know Jamelia was hardly the most popular celeb in last years mix but she had more potential than she showed in her dances with Tristan (excluding her charleston and possibly quickstep).

Hi Kaycee - I am plodding along! that about sums up my impression of Tristan too - great person full of fun but never took his dancing seriously enough imo, he worked for a friend of mine who runs big school in USA and was very popular but moved on to do no teachin things

If strictly keeps to the usual format of 15 celebs, on an alternating basis for male/ female, then this year they will only have 7 female celebs...
meaning no need to replace Tristan, other than the requirement for one extra male pro for the group dances.

I'm not gonna shoot you down but don't shoot me down for this IMO I cant see Anton or Brendan going since the producers like a bit of originality for someone who has been there from the start and Anton and Brendan are all that's left to cover that

Derek Hough could replace him as he's not doing DWTS. He's a very successful dancer and has won about six times. Think he'd be great and he's a American. I'd like to see more Americans. Emma slater might do it too as she's not doing it anymore and she danced with Hayes Grier. Oh I love him

Really sad to hear this about Tristan. I just loved to see his smile which at times was cheeky as well as sexy. His voice was lovely always have loved the lilting sound. I guessed he would not stay after the debacle of Jamelia and the way she was put out of the show. He has principles and stood by them. God for him but not so good for us.

Good . I won't miss him . He never really fitted in anyway , more interested in his own persona and being a smarty pants than in bothering working to his partner's ability . I didn't like Jamelia much as a personality, but dance-wise she grew on me . She had the basic dance instinct , just needed it channeled in the right direction. I don't feel tristan used her to her full potential .His choreography was very dull and he's too lippy for his own good . He ain't all that .
If he doesn't like rules and strategy and towing the line for a nice pay cheque then he best foxtrot off and be a rebel without a clue somewhere else . There's no shortage of young eager dancers out there .
I see James Jordan is egging him on . Bitter boys club .:

Why Americans in particular? Is it because you know them from the American show?

I wouldn't have classed Tristan as lippy at all. I remember him standing back a lot and letting Jamelia do most of the talking when with Claudia unlike other dances who try to steal focus.

Crikey, you really don't like him do you. I thought he was a refreshing face to the show and at times did not worry about upsetting some of the higher up with his comments. He never came across as bitter like some who were either in the show or had left. I feel he just liked to be treated fairly, something that did not happen to his partner last year. I'm not a trained dancer just one that tried to dance! But I thought he danced in a soft caring way with his partners. Apart from maybe when he pulled Jamelia's hair

Derek isn't doing DWTS because he is going to be doing Singing in the Rain on Broadway. I can't see why anyone from DWTS would willingly swap to Strictly considering even their troupe members apparently get paid more than our pros, plus it seems that Strictly is becoming just as manipulated as their show and they at least have more creative freedom over there.

I think he came across as feeling he was a bit above it sometimes, which was a bit off-putting for me. I prefer pro's who embrace the campy ridiculousness of it all.

I enjoyed him on ITT sometimes but idk, if he looked like Anton I wonder if people would miss him as much. I think Tristan is a nice guy, not a great teacher but a nice guy, but I just don't know if he's well suited to a show like this.

I don't get the impression that he didn't embrace that side of it. From what he has said, it seems more like he couldn't embrace having to take the 'blame' for bad music and theme choices which have been forced on him by the producers. He seems to have been frustrated by the unfairness but has expressed it in a much better way than James Jordan, for example. I think some of the other pros don't really 'embrace' the show as it is now, they just put up with it for financial reasons and to maintain their profiles for their outside projects that they find truly fulfilling.
