Channel 4 today have announced that Bryan Kirkwood has stepped down from his role as executive producer of Hollyoaks, a post he has held since late 2012. Kirkwood, who was previously executive producer on Hollyoaks between 2006—2009. He then returned to the soap after leaving BBC One soap opera EastEnders. Channel 4 released the following statement following his departure:
