It may have been silenced as a result of a 6-letter word beginning with B.
Hardly, Johnny was doing a presentation recently on the effect that Brexit will have onthe textiles industry. I was pleasantly surprised by the reference actually.

IT might be referenced tonight with the reveal of the flats scam. I hope they don't forget her early involvement with Phelan lobbying her for the development in the first place.
Another part of this Phelan flats scam business that is totally unbelievable!!

As if Sally wouldn't have been at that meeting tonight giving Todd/Phelan a hard time, let alone that she would have become suspicious long since about why nothing was happening re the 'development' her constituents had paid good money into!!

It was the only quibble I had with last night's excellent eepisode. This might be rectified down the line- hopefully tonight.

Didn't Sally recommend that the 'flats project' be passed by the planning committee on Phelan's request, so she might yet be called to explain if she knew anything about the scam by the council.

Whilst Sally recommended the go ahead for the development and fought the corner of the residents, Vinny and Phelan would have still gone through the standard planning process and been required to submit detailed plans and financial forecasts to the planning department who would ultimately be responsible for seeing it through.

I can imagine Sally being utterly furious that she was duped by those two morons, but in reality she is almost blameless. Both she, and Wethie Council saw all the documentation they needed for it to be believed as a genuine venture. They are victims in this just as much as anyone else and if Rita or Sarah came knocking at my door trying to place blame on me, I'd be quick to remind them how they too fell for Phelans patter just as much as I did. Sally wasn't going round encouraging sales or forcing residents to part with deposit money she simply oversaw the plans before they were submitted to the council to ensure that the development was in the best interests of her constituents.

Yeh I did hear Johnny refer to Brexit. I just observed local politician Sally conspicuously quiet on it. Mind you, I missed some summer episodes due to holidays and 4 weeks away after Kylie left so maybe she did mention Brexit at some point then.

No, I don't recall Sally making any comment about Brexit. Apart from Johnny and Brian making some comments on it, I don't recall any other character talking about it. I really do hope that Kate Oates revisits Sally's political career this year. There is so much potential both comedic and dramatic with this and the scope to see her interact with many different characters both on and off the street.

It's exactly the same scenario as you mentioned earlier in the day with Toyah for me Boogie!!
I suggested two years ago when I first joined that Sally should be a councillor to give her some purpose & I cheered when they actually did it and I thought it would pave the way to a new lease of life for the character but no!! All it was for was a vehicle for her to add to her snobbiness thinking she was better than everyone else!!
For goodness sake let's see her drive & determination put to good use & let her actually do something to earn her place in the council instead of just sucking up to the 'higher echelons' trying to climb the social ladder & ending up looking a fool!!
