Brian has said that he wanted to call it a day after the Arena tour, he didn't want to do the stadium tour that followed.
I saw them at the NEC on that tour and they were brilliant. The three things that I remember the most was how great they were, a "proper" massive light show and perfect sound, the fact that my wife really enjoyed the show as she isn't the biggest AC/DC fan in the world, and lastly a girl that was in the row in front of us. We were sat on the side and she couldn't have been any more than 10 or 11 and she was having the time of her life. She knew all the words to every song, even though virtually all of them were written before she was born, and she summed up everything a rock gig should be for me. Pure enjoyment.

I do understand the view, though.
It is ironic, give the thread, that the only time I saw Van Halen was at Monster of Rock in 1984. Even though AC/DC were headlining virtually everyone there went to see Van Halen.
