Well, it's for free, so you can download and test it. You use the same account that you use for shopping at Amazon. You don't close it unless you do not want to shop at Amazon, then you probably do it on the website. I installed it on my phone, but I don't use it, I very much prefer using the Kindle device (screen size, eink screen).
