I saw on Emma's Twitter feed that she is "taking a break" from DWTS this season. Timing isn't quite right but would it be too much to hope that she might do Strictly? I'd love to see her as a new pro!

I think she will be one of the new pro's, yes. Her name was mentioned by the press as a possible replacement for Kristina/Ola/Aliona a while back, before DWTS dropped her. Have to say I'm not sure she deserves a second shot at Strictly after dropping them in the shit at the last minute in 2013, but the prdocuers are obviously keen to have her so.

Yep, she was announced officially as one of the new pro's that year along with Kevin, Alijaz and Janette and then backed out at the eleventh hour when DWTS decided to keep her on after all. This was weeks before the show was supposed to start and they had to go and presumably grovel to Aliona who had been dropped (she'd aired her fury over that in the media).

So yes, I'd be wary of giving her another shot at Strictly in case DWTS suddenly decide they want her back for their second season of 2016. They pay might be better but I will never understand why anyone would choose DWTS over Strictly? The turnover of pro's is so much higher and the whole thing is very fake IMO.

I forgot that Aliona was dropped, bet she was glad that she accepted the invitation back although she may not have been thinking it when she had Greg Wallace
Emma Slater? It depends if she is still part of the DWTS shake up. She's British which I guess would appeal to the producers.

They replaced Emma with Anya not Aliona; Aliona was brought back for an injured Natalie.

The pay/prestige on Strictly might not be comparable to DWTS, but at least she'd have a chance of being paired with someone who's not under 15 or over 60.

I don't think she will do it, if she wanted it I don't think she would have switched to DWTS

Anya replaced Emma Slater - not Aliona

Emma's decision was based around her partner Sasha Faber - although they split for a time - think they are back together so would be surprised if she did come back, one of my former pupils was Emma's dance partner in BTF for a time and on his FB timeline they are talking about meeting up stateside in Autumn

I can name numerous reasons why she would have switched to DWTS and they all begin with a $ sign!

I don't think so and I hope not. Dwts has so much to offer her and she knows that. There's a reason why she says No in the past. ...and she's back with Sasha again. Why would she come to strictly
She's one of the rare female pros who is so popular at Dwts and has a HUGE following ; it gave her so many opportunities. ..why would she do strictly

These rumours never stop. ....even if she does it
...and I said if, it will most likely be a one time gig.

I don't think Emma will be coming to strictly but stranger things have happened. Emma is in a very similiar position to Tristan before he left for strictly in terms of dwts, Tristan was/still is popular with fans but was dropped last minute twice Emma was nearly dropped last season and dropped this so I can understand why the rumours keep reappearing mainly from dwts fans who think Emma is treated unfairly the difference between the two is Emma's boyfriend Sasha is on the show, her sister has moved to the states and she seems completely settled there.

As for Emma switched to dwts she didn't; she decided to stay at dwts when she got offered a pro position she was already in the troupe

I understand why she chose DWTS originally, but we all know that Strictly is a better show at the end of the day. Given the opportunity why wouldn't a dancer want to do it?
