now in the service app it's 35% off, holding off to see what else may appear, hopefully 50% i'll be happy with that. notice runs out on the 13th june so plenty of time yet! |

My broadband went down for pretty much the entire weekend so this has made me re-evaluate going down the streaming only route so will have to see now if I go down the freesat/freeview route + Now TV or shudder see what deals sky can do for me come October when my contract finishes..

As you've seen, I've posted a lot about Now TV and suggesting prices may go up. Now it seems it is happening as Now TV will be removing kids channels from the £6.99 pack and creating a new kids pack for £2.99.
There are some new channels for kids added but if you want Sky One/Atlantic and kids channels it's now effectively a nice £3 a month price hike. I knew it would happen. Have to wonder when movies will go up in price too now! |

I've never paid full whack for movies, due to offers (was sent a free month voucher last weekend after being out of sub for 3 weeks) and cheap boxes so if they hiked that price (they've got to stay competitive with Netflix and Amazon, though) it wouldn't really phase me. |

I've got loads of vouchers too. I wonder if Sky will sell a box with a year of Kids for £20 anytime soon?!

I've had 2 deals with sky for the last 2 years where I've paid £21 a month for all channels (except movies and sports) but I can get NowTV for £9 or whatever it is so I'm going to that. Also sick of sky putting their prices up every summer and their laughable attempts at justifying it by mentioning stuff like Sky Go etc |

I caved in on the 50% off + £50 credit. They rang me but didn't offer any more than that.

We have cabling in our loft room for a sky box and As I am getting a new box in the living room would I then be able to put the old box in the loft room and watch the freeview channels? |

Was the new box standard HD+ or was it the 2TB version?

Just managed to get 50% off everything (including HD and Multiscreen) and £50 credit which works out to about £41 a month. Currently paying £31 but after increases in June who knows.
Happy with that

It's good to hear heavy discounting is going to be a thing of the past. It isn't fair that many of us are paying full price while others get massive discounts every year just by threatening to cancel.
The launch of Sky Q should give the company the ideal opportunity to position themselves as a premium brand. Premium brands do not slash their prices 50%-60% a year (Apple is a good example). What's stopping you from ringing them and getting a discount? |

Sky Q is not offered heavily discounted. And I also have some dignity I'm not going to phone Sky begging for discounts.

Who begs for discounts? It's a really skewed way of seeing things...
Fortunately it's quite clear that although publicly Sky have stopped the big discounts, they are certainly still offering them in practice on the poor peoples non premium 'legacy platform' Long may the heavy discounting continue! |

Look at it like Next, their clothes range is over priced, the true rate is when they do the 50% sale, it makes it look like your getting a bargain, when in fact you really are paying the correct price for the product. |

Fair enough. Not replying to anyone else about this. I shouldn't have taken the bait again.

Your not begging for a discount, your asking for the proper rate not the over priced rate you are currently paying.

You can guarantee if Sky have a list price of £70 they can quite easily sell that product for at least £55 - £60 with a decent profit. Like all companies they will charge what the market will stand and the sooner people fight back the better, though there are those who consider it an honor to pay full price. Out of interest I wonder if they pay the sticker price for a car and don't haggle it down, plus a free MOT, service and possibly the equivalent money off for a full tank of fuel? |

http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2151351 Hang on a minute... that op looks familiar ![]() (He'll probably say he posted that on purpose to prove some kind of point or that it was a jest or that he's fine with it because it's software or something )

Have you also tried My Sky and Sky Interactive...you need to check all three not just the app.

Could always try live chat again (or phone), say you have got a 50% off offer in your My Sky, I doubt they check, if they do, just say that's what it says, i expect they'll give it to you anyway.

I wonder what aurichie thinks of this:

I love the hypocrisy from some posters here, while I'm quite happy to get the best price available. I write this while listening to the free version of Spotify and selecting the next song before the one I'm listening to ends, it's free and I don't get any adverts.... Well apart from those displayed on screen which I can't see as the screen is minimized! |
