Deal on Family Bundle (also have Fibre unlimited and phone) ran out last week. I called up to ask for a deal and was told they can't do anything and that I have 4 months to go on my 12 months contract (deal was 8 months 33% off).
I gave them 4 months notice to cancel TV (had to point out that the T&Cs say a minimum notice of 31 days but not that any more is a problem) and the chap finally processed it after checking with his manager. TV would have been switched of mid August. 1 hour later a phone call... we're sorry you're leaving blahblah. 25 % for 12 months, no new contract. Declined that. In the meantime I had an e-mail offering 33% for 8 months with a new 12 months contract. Ignored it. I checked MySky today and had nothing other than movies and sports at half price so I thought I'd check Sky Active. Before the main screen loaded a huge message popped up explaining how they tried to make me laugh etc. for years and there were sorry to see me leave. It then went on to say it's not too late, for 50% for 12 months (no new contract) enter your PIN. I did that and within the next hour I had an e-mail confirming it. I now pay £17.25 for Family (£18 from June), £7.50 for Fibre unlimited (until December) and £10.40 phone line. Really can't complain. |

It's good to hear heavy discounting is going to be a thing of the past. It isn't fair that many of us are paying full price while others get massive discounts every year just by threatening to cancel.
The launch of Sky Q should give the company the ideal opportunity to position themselves as a premium brand. Premium brands do not slash their prices 50%-60% a year (Apple is a good example).

Still got it for a few more weeks, so will just keep checking to see if any better offers come up. |

I just cancelled my Sky (to be cut off 21st April) and was not offered any deal to stay. I wasn;t looking one, I'm leaving no matter what, but after reading so many stories of things people get offered on here, I was a bit surprised they didn't offer me anything.

Have you look online at your account or on your Sky Interactive...I know when I cancelled I wasn't offered anything but straight away on My Sky the 35% off offer was there.
Decided to ditch TV, so wasn't looking for offer, but interestingly none were made then or since. TV customer for 12 years. Had two or three discounts over the years, nothing particularly massive though. No offers during the call to give notice to terminate TV, no offers received during notice period, no offers received post-termination, no offers in My Sky. Not at all bothered but found it slightly surprising, given all that is written on the subject of the heavens opening with offers when cancelling or threatening to cancel and likewise with comeback offers during the notice period and/or after termination. Maybe it's just the luck of the draw?! Still got Sky Broadband & Talk though (which we're happy with). To be fair, did get a discount on that even with no TV. |

Do you mean pressing the "Sky" button on the remote control to access planner, on demand etc etc? |

I have just checked on the Sky website, and sure enough, they are offering me 35% off any package for 12 months if I decide to stay. Thanks, but no thanks, Sky. I'm gone!

Don't wanna be rude but you have to be an absolute mug to pay full price for the service. All it takes is one free phone call and they would knock off 20% for the majority of people without even losing any service. Play your cards right and go without for a month and you're looking at 66% off.
But I guess we have to be grateful for those people. They keep paying full price so Sky give others like me offers, effectively subsidising my sub. |

I cancelled my SKY Package at the end of December as my current discount was coming to an end. I was on the variety pack without Sports or Movies. However, my box was starting to play up and as it was coming up to being 5 years old I thought I'd be better to cut my losses before the box died a death. They never offered me a deal, but did contact me a few weeks later and offered me a deal which I felt wasn't good enough.
In that time, I purchased a Now TV box and got 3 months entertainment and after my movie trial ended got a 4 month deal for a one of payment. I have been quite happy with using the sky + box to watch live freeview, as it is still working ok for the time being, and using Now TV to watch the sky channels and catch up. I did get another call from sky a couple of weeks ago offering me a 60% discount on any package for 12 months plus £100 credit on my account with no contract. Money being tight, said I would think about it and to call me back in 24 hours. I missed that call and they haven't called me back since as after much thought, I had decided to take the offer as I would have had a few months completely free. oh well, my loss. |

I'm on the legacy Sky Sports 1 package with Variety, HD, multiroom.
They've offered me 35% of for 6 months on a 12 month contract which isn't a great deal. I'm worried that if I actually go through with a cancellation any subsequent offer will be for all of the Sky Sports channels and not just Sky Sports 1 like I have now. So in the long run I'd be paying more. Is that how it works? |

Cancelled Sky TV this month
Now TV has replaced my sky TV alongside freesat freetime+ and Saorview if 2 people can share a Now TV account and each have 2 Now TV Boxes, you can get Now TV's Entertainment, Movies and Sport monthly passes for £25 per month as its mostly all the best parts of Sky TV's Sky World package. |

I have pretty much everything they have to offer and was paying full price, apart from 50% off fibre. I phoned up yesterday to cancel Movies ahead of the price increase and got 50% off Movies and Sport, 50% off HD pack and 50% off multiroom for 6 months.
I came away quite happy with that

I always do my Auntys Sky deals each year. Last year I got her 60% off and £100 credit. So worked out on average she paid £6.60 a month.
This year it took me less than 15 minutes to get her 50% off and £100 account credit with no new contract (she just had their basic bundle. No movies or sports). So basically free sky for 6 months at which time I'll do the same again. |

i called Sky on Monday and asked if I have any offers for my account and they only offered me 35% off TV for 9 months on a 12 month contract so basically about £10 off a month. I proceeded to cancel my phone, fibre broadband and TV. I haven't received any further offers yet.

Not sure...I would have thought you would be okay, while your in your notice period, and offers usually come through then, if they don't just say you changed your mind.
When do the channels cease working? As soon as I have called? |

I just went ahead and cancelled. Can confirm it does seem to let you keep the legacy packages such as Sky Sports 1 only and My Sky is currently showing a 35% off for 12 month deal.
