They offered me 60% again on live chat, same as last year but no £100 credit, i said no.

50% off showing in my account already,
Jonny.

Not seen many posts if any that is, who have been offered 60% in the last few months.

50% Off and £50 Credit appears to be the going rate as soon as you active your 31 day cancelation period.

They probably look at your account and see what made you bite last year.

I've been offered it twice, once when I cancelled and once when I contacted england regarding broadband renewal. The win back team in India aren't able to offer it anymore apparently, seems that it's 35% rising to 50% just before it goes off with them.

So if anyone wants 60% off, give notice on TV contract then contact the broadband team to discuss your broadband options.

After rejecting 60% off yesterday I've just had a phone call from Sky - no credit unfortunately but they've given me 70% off and a rolling 1 month contract for a year so I've snapped it up! Perhaps being a long time customer really does count for something...

That's great. Hang on for a couple more days and I bet they'll come back with a credit offer as well.

I wonder if they will though as I've already accepted their offer...

Indeed. But I don't mind 70% off so I'll quite happily settle for that!

How utterly ridiculous and selfish to accept such an offer. You should have paid full price and not expected other loyal subscribers to pay for you!

Never mind next year you'll be damned grateful to get an extremely generous 25% off from the legacy platform in SD only with a new 18 month contract, if you're lucky.

Jonny.

Yeah got the 60% off last year and £100 credit for myself and several other friends/family members.

Like i say best I've seen of late is 50% off and £50 credit on many a forum. Got free BB and half price line rental along with TV deal, credit and 50% multi room for my folks so still a good shift.

Me, I managed to get a friends and family code off chat for Sky Q Silver with one Mini. Sports/Movies Pack on 18month contract all for £56 pm and 10quid install.

Happy as a pig in shit

I'm shocked at the deal. In fact I'm so shocked I may have to start to cry...

I just wish I had the ability to bargain like this every year. Even the customer service rep said to phone up next July to see what offers they may have then!

You dont have to bargain though do you? you just ring up or start a live chat, and cancel, 1 months notice, day after it goes off then the good stuff starts.

They offered me 60% off , same as i got last year on live chat today, i said no thanks.

If you appear too keen you will get shafted.

Well with that kind of incentive it should be a lot easier for you to haggle next year.

I'm going to punish myself next week after I take out the Now TV offer that makes it £5 for 5 months!

Though really I'm punishing myself because Now TV only use 144i for live channels and the 720p boxsets are really poor VHS quality and delayed by half an hour which ruins The Simpsons as I can hear my neighbours laughing before I do!

How much do you want for one of them?!

Also, has anybody had any luck in getting their line rental reduced recently?

I have no idea how much they're worth. However, I think I may keep them as there's always a slim chance that at some point in the future I may go back to Sky. As in if Now TV suddenly starts shooting up in price, or they split up the packs further.

Just had a call from a survey company (BDRC Continental), following up a call from a while ago (when I was still a customer but was waiting out my notice period). The offer was of a £30 in vouchers, by taking part in a 30 minute phone survey, subject to pre-qualification.

The first question was, was I the person who called to cancel?. Yes.

The second question was, had I ever phoned to cancel before?. Yes.

At this point I was told that they could go no further, as Sky is only looking to talk to people who have never called up to cancel before. That rather suggests they are talking about people who call up to negotiate a discount every year!!

So, no £30 for me, but when I said I'd been a customer since the analogue days in the 90s, he did say he would feedback to Sky and they could make an exception.

Somehow I doubt it, but hey ho.

I currently have the 50% off for a year (2 weeks to go to switch off), but have just had another offer of retaining the Sky+ recording facility and free broadband for a year (I currently have free broadband which comes to an end in October). I would just pay the line rental.

I find that strangely tempting, as it means we can see how much we miss Sky while still being able to record and pause freesat. It would be ironic if Sky have actually given me the offer that persuades me go through with the cancellation!
