It's mainly the same stuff, spread out over more channels. As for documentaries, you'd be hard pushed to find one on the so called documentary channels. It's mostly reality crap these days. It was much better in 2002.

There may be more football if that's what you like. Unfortunately that's one of the reasons the prices have gone through the roof and if you aren't remotely interested that's a negative, not a plus.

Watching TV is really up to what the Individual likes and requires.

Me I do not want sports, as to the supposed Hollywood Blockbusters, in reality SKY do not show many real Blockbusters. More like Suffragette, Pan and The Good Dinosaur, these I do not call Blockbusters as they are more like the Old B Movies. So SKY Movies not for me.

As to entertainment on Channels like SKY 1, Atlantic and Living. I get all these and more on NOW TV all for £5 a Month and if you know where to look on the internet you can get a six month Entertainment Pass for only £25 which equates to only £4.16 a Month.

I also have Amazon Prime TV, Netflix TV and a Humax FreeSat Box that does everything a SKY box can do plus it also has listings for the past 7 days as well as 7 days forward.

Both my FreeSat Box and y NOW TV Box can Record, Pause live TV, Rewind and fast forward.

So now I can get all the TV I want, most of which are in HD, for Only £13 a Month and that is far better than the £74 a month that I was paying SKY.

I really do believe that SKY is pricing themselves out of the Market. Give it ten years and most people will be streaming TV and Not watching Via Satellite.

I've been offered 60% off now with £50 credit. I wonder if that's the best off I will get. Do people think I should accept the offer or wait for more credit?

That's the best I could get a few months ago. I tried to get £100 credit out of them, but they wouldn't have it.

Whether you should take it or not I couldn't answer. It's a gamble either way I guess.

Thanks. I've got another 3 weeks before my service ends so I might wait a bit longer to see if I can squeeze a little more out of them.

It's good but not quite good enough. I've only just discovered this thread recently and didn't realise people have been getting huge discounts for years. I feel I deserve a little more after paying full price for 10 years.

You won't be offered anything straight away. You will have to wait a week or 2 and the offers get better the closer you get to your cut off date.

Not always true.I Phoned to cancel a few months ago and got offered,60% off tv, free bb, anytime calls for £5.00 and £100.00 credit.Of course i bit their had off.

Cut off date for me is now 10 days away. So far had the 50% offer on the app, on the sky box, by phone and by E mail. Now increased to 60% off from app, E mail and a letter. But all offers are 12 month contract. Also had one phone call offering me 60% off with no contract. So far no credit offer.

I put in my cancellation on the 26th August via e-mail as the live chat option to cancel was down. Sky finally got in touch with me yesterday and phoned to confirm my cancellation request.

They made no offer to stay, simply asked why I decided to cancel, told them it was too expensive etc, on the variety with sports and 1 multiroom, currently paying £78 per month.
Told me the service will finish on 26th September and final bill will be £11 something.

Logged into mysky, no offer there. Had an e-mail confirming my cancellation, and just a little paragraph of how they are sorry to see me go and that if I change my mind its not too late.

When checking mysky I noticed they are extremely busy and no phonelines were available, a sign that thousands are currently cancelling sky. No surprise really, they need to rethink how they price their service. You can't be offering different rates to different people viewing the same service. Make it affordable to everyone and then people won't need to threaten to leave.

You should definitely get some cash credit if you speak to the win back team and tell them you want credit as well as 60% or more discount.

The same thing they said to me,and i also told them i was out of contract with virgin broadband and no deal was offered,looking to get a sky q deal. i was wondering could my wife get a deal with sky for all that as a new customer or is that not allowed. my switch off date is oct 4.

For those who have cancelled and are looking for a deal login to the Sky website and click-on the 'Left Sky TV in the last 12 months?' link.

If you want a rolling contract rather than 12 month minimum then either call or use online chat quoting the offer in the 'Left Sky TV in the last 12 months?' page and ask for rolling contract.

Currently 60% off and £100 credit on rolling contract is apparently possible although I haven't done it myself ... yet.

It says I am ineligible because I haven't officially left yet for 3 weeks.

I just spoke to them and they told me that 60% offer plus £100 credit is only available 6 months after leaving Sky.

I left in June and my online offer is now showing 60% discount plus £75 credit.

I left in April 2015 and I clicked that link and it's offering me 60% off + £75 credit as well. £19 a month for sports is extremely tempting I must admit, but I also qualify as a new customer so if I go through Quidco, I can get £110 cashback + £100 prepaid mastercard as well so just over £200 quid to sign up as a new customer is probably more tempting.

Would be nice if i could tag on recommend a friend as well but you can't do that.
