The deal has cost me nothing, in fact I will be £4 in credit after 12 months unless of course I upgrade at some point.
I didn't know about movies/sport for £3.40 a month?

I must say I'm so glad to have sky back as their pvr/epg system is much nicer than humax and the extra channels are nice to have back.”

genius!

I cancelled again and have 60% showing at the moment, not yet cut off but instead of just giving it up I may well do that. I was thinking about the box sets option as that gives the most channels (excluding sport and movies). it looks like they've changed the packages since I renegotiated last year

I have one account pending cancel.

On MySky, the offer shown is 50% for 10 months...

I have the same, having cancelled 3 days ago, although when I look at the Terms and Conditions of the offer it says 60% for 12 months, so not sure what they're offering!
I've also got 50% for 10 months on the Sky box, and 50% for 12 months on the app. Confusing.

Could someone remind me, can we give notice more than 30 days before contract end?

I think we can, but not totally sure

Yes you can. You just give them notice to quit when your contract expires.
Jonny.

Sky is a 12 month contract so you can give notice at the end of month 11 that you don't wish to continue past agreed 12 months otherwise it would be a 13 month contract.

It is possible to give MORE than 1 month notice.

If your contract ended 31/12/16, you could give cancellation notice now, (more than 2 months before completion) but the termination will still not be any earlier...

Companies don't like to admit this, and while I doubt many would outright lie to you, they word things to try and put you off giving notice early.

Nothing to stop you taking on a 12 month contract and giving notice from the outset, so you won't pay a penny more than what has been agreed up front (barring any mid-contract price rises that you'd agree to, or not, as the case may be).

I have just got a 50% offer after cancelling my Sky TV.

The prices went up as my existing TV offer ended.

If I accept this will my existing Line Rental Offer, which runs to January, Stop?

Existing BB offers still stand. I have accepted the 50% offer.

I just wanted the price to stay the same as I was paying. So i'm happy.

I have a 60% mailing that expired last week - my sky will expire this week, but at the 60% off I would have continued. However, after 2 chats, the will not honour the deal, so I have told them I will let the subscription lapse. Have I done the right thing? If it does lapse and I resubscribe (should I get a better offer) will my recordings still be available? I'm hoping for 60% off but on a rolling contract with some account credit - what are my chances? How often are these offers given? Thanks in advance

Is the 60% offer not appearing on your online account on the main page? If it is then you can go onto Live Chat and tell them you want to accept their offer. You can still do that and they will probably give it to you. You will lose your recordings unless you pay £10 a month to keep them and use the Freeview service through the Sky box.

No, the offer is now 50% for 10 months online and on tv, but 12 months on the app. I was really hoping that I wouldn't lose recordings. Got hours and hours to watch...

All you have to do is pay £10 a month to keep them or it's free if you have Sky Broadband or phone already. I reckon you will get the 60% offer once your service ends. I had the offer a few days after my TV service was terminated. Did you speak to them via Live Chat? online? Tell them you have a 60% offer and they may accept it.

Just to clarify, as the information given was not strictly correct.

You will not lose your recordings, they will stay on the box, you just won't be able to access them once your subscription ends.

If you get a good deal a day or a week later, and re-activate your account (using the same viewing card), your will then be able to access your recordings again.

Well that's what I meant. You will lose your recordings if you cancel but they remain on the box if you re-subsrcribe.

Indeed, but due to the way you worded it, beachbabe0 didn't understand your answer (as their second post they say they were hoping they wouldn't lose the recordings), so i thought i would clarify that for them.

How do you know they didn't understand what I meant in my post?

anyonefortennis I did mean I hoped they'd still be available once I resubscribe, which I will do, once the deal is right.

sodafountain thanks so much for the clarification - it does help - I can wait to watch until I resubscribe, once the offer is acceptable. I really do appreciate the advice, as it will stop me from rushing to do anything before my contract ends
