I gave 30 days notice to quit Sky last month, simply because my wife had just retired, and i myself retire in a few months, so time to cancel as i was paying over £90 a month just for TV & multi-room, 30 days were up on Sunday 20-11-16 and Sky went off at 5PM, on Sunday night i was browsing Digital Spy forums and saw people mentioning this 75% Plus £100 credit, so i thought my contract is up, and i have left within the last 12 months, so nothing ventured, so Monday morning did an online chat with a Sky rep, and got the 75% off + £100 credit + half price multi-room, Sky Sports, Movies HD Pack etc, £26-90 a month, Sky turned back on Monday 12 noon, so turned of less than 24 hours,
well pleased.

Yes indeed, good deal. I'll have to push harder when my 50% offer expires next April - I can live without Sky for less than 24 hours

What do you think of these deals Aurchie, you have gone very quiet lately!!!

I too gave notice last month and was offered 50% I was on the box set package. The package was turned off on 17th so decided to wait for a better offer as I also have the Now tv package which I use upstairs. Saw your post and googled come back to Sky and got live chat. Asked for the 75% offer plus £100 credit, Was offered 60%, I said I would not bother. He then asked if I still had the cabling etc said yes and was then given the 75% + £100 credit also took the movies so very happy. I have been with Sky since they started and have only had the odd film offer.

Cancelled a couple of hours ago and just ahd a random look on offers. It just came back with 'Unfortunately we are unable to show your exclusive offers available online. To continue or for more information, please call 08442 411 818'

I'm guessing it usually takes a few hours

So it's normal for me to get that message?

To be honest I'd probably be happy with 30% off for 12 months before it actually switches off

Stick it out and get 50, 60 or 75%. Your wallet will thank you.

Only problem is you let it go and realise after 24 hours that life didn't end and you hold off. I think I've been off for about 4 or 5 months now.

Admittedly I do have the basic entertainment channels free on Now TV and movies when I redeem one of the many passes I got with Now TV boxes.

Talking of which, Sainsbury's is doing a Now TV box with 4 months movies for £15 now or the Freeview Smart box for £25 with 3 months of something.

Yes it's normal. You just have to play the waiting game for your offers to get better and better the longer you hold off. It's also a good idea to go on Live Chat and speak to the win back team on the phone to ask for the best offers.

I don't think I could last long. To be honest I watch more sport than I thought. It's due to go off on the 25th December.

Am I likely to get a 50% off before It cancels? Or is that wishful thinking?

You will definitely get 50% off, probably in a few days or a week from now. If you can wait closer to the 25th you will probably get 60% off and more cashback. You may be luck enough to get 75% off but I think your service would have to be terminated for a few days to get that offer.

I think I'd snap their hand off for 50% off

I wouldn't if I were you. Just wait until closer to the 25th and you will get more discount plus cashback. What have you got to lose. You will still have your service running until the 25th. You will definitely get a 60% offer in about 2 weeks which will appear on your online account.

Maybe I'll wait then - I take it it appears in the usual place? Offers and Upgrades section?

It usually appears in a big white box at the bottom of the home page.

No, it is usually quite instant (when i last cancelled, i logged on as I was finishing off the chat, and the offer was there already), but it doesn't appear in your offers section, as that probably won't work now you are cancelling, it should appear straight away when you log in, a "Sorry you are leaving" message on the front page somewhere.

You sometimes get different offers on My Sky, the Sky app on your phone/tablet, and the Sky Interactive on your box.

Guys I need some advice

I cancelled like 3 months ago. Sky have offered me 75% off for all the channels including sports and movies in HD, plus £50 cashback.
As great is that deal is..::I don't have the Sky box or cabeling anymore. I told sky this and they could do was offer me 35% off the package with a new box and install which means my package will cost like £49 a month which is expensive.....
Any ideas on what I should do?

You could get a £15 Now TV box and use that for sport for a single month, thus not missing out, and allow that time to refocus some minds at Sky...

How much would Sky Sports cost for a month on Now TV?

I received the 50% offer by email about 2 days after I had cancelled.

I'm guessing I'll still get some sort of offer though? I'd hope so given I've been with them for donkeys years.

You will definitely get offers. Make sure you have your notification preferences turned on though.
