Before we left sky 2 weeks ago. We asked about a deal on our account but apparently because we had had too many deals (and that was our first after 5 years)
we weren't getting offered anything. Left them anyway and found better options (and cut the bill per year by about 90%) |

Wondering if with the addition of the Box Sets for 3 months, does that also include the HD channel with it?
Find out on Saturday... Although i doubt it |

Called me up yesterday offering 75% off and £100 credit....it effectively makes my subscription free for about 10 months. The offers are there, you just have to be prepared to cancel and actually see it through. I don't need Sky, I made that clear when I left and also yesterday, hence the offer which is good for 12 months.

I'm going to cancel Sky in the next few days as like many these days I'm watching less and less and finding alternative sources for pretty much everything. If I get a decent deal I may consider keeping it but I actually would like to try life without Sky for a while just to see if the family can cope.
Anyway, can anyone confirm the best way to cancel? Is it only by phone as I've heard? |

Anyway, can anyone confirm the best way to cancel? Is it only by phone as I've heard? So I phoned, got through quite quickly at about 7pm (closes at 8) but may have got lucky (0333 202 2139). The process after you've gone through the automation and speak to someone, they : - try to reduce your package to make it cheaper - offer a 10 month "deal" (30% ish) - cancel I'd turn on marketing preferences via mySky. Once cancelled check back on Mysky and if no offer there, on the box itself "my account". Or you may prefer to let it go off and see what they offer then. Depends what you consider "good deal" |

Thanks for the advice. Interesting I was under the impression they wouldn't accept a cancellation request via live chat. Anyway I'll give that a go tomorrow and if that doesn't work I'll give them a call.

I've changed my marketing selections and am now on live chat. I love how it says it's busy, then says it'd available, asks what I'm inquirying about and as soon as the system finds out I'm cancelling (I chose the 'process cancellation now' option) it's suddenly busy again and sends me to the back of the queue. Started off at 44th in the queue with an estimated wait of 17 minutes. Lets see how long it actually takes?!

The offer was to go on the Package that I used to be on FREE for 10 Months with no Contract. Since I am now quite happy with FreeSat, also as I no longer have any SKY Boxes as I have recycled them all as they were no longer required, I Refused Politely. So if you hang on long enough they will make you a real good offer. |
