EE are the bees knees.
Anyway to get congestion sorted in a small city at lunch time? When I start work I can get 30mbps. By lunch time it's like 0.5mbps and hardly loads anything. |

Ooh isn't this exciting! New thread and possible 5X love!
No updates popped up on mine yet. I guess it's a phased OTA rollout. Not going to go through the unlock'n'flash rigmarole so will just hope it pops up soon. Sounds hopeful on the unbranded ones though! Edit: Found OTA links on XDA. Didn't know those were a thing. Righto then... Edit 2: They're not OTA at all, you still have to unlock (which wipes everything). The wait continues...! Edit 3: Or maybe you don't. So much misinformation on XDA... |

One interesting thing I noticed today, My Galaxy S7 which I bought from Mobile Phones Direct and received yesterday actually has the EE firmware on it and so I have been able to activate WiFi calling (yay). I was under the impression only devices bought directly from EE had the EE specific firmware?

Video about TETRA Airwave and GSM-R railway masts with a bit of ESN.
ESN being a bit about EE hence why on this thread. Shame about the closing of the big thread, found 10K posts quite amazing! |

So Lord Lucan other than the places previously mentioned where else can users try out VOLTE ? If you can't post the place names how about cryptic teasers

It has to be on though surely, otherwise there is no point in 800mhz on EE? |

You don't need to unlock to flash official images from Google, including developer previews. You only have to unlock to flash third party ones
If the Play Store telephone support had not fobbed me off with "you shouldn't have been messing with that menu, so we're not going to help you, bye" (ticket/email support were much nicer and way more helpful but by then I'd gone down the "flash this custom ROM where the menu isn't broken" route) I might never have had to go through the unlock+wipe, fix, re-lock, re-flash routine. It did indeed sideload fine per my comment here http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...t3306450/page7 Just waiting forever-and-a-day for the usual "Optimising app x of y" routine. |

Wifi Calling option appeared and (because I was already provisioned from when I had an iPhone) worked straight away! Woohoo! My Signal Box did its job XD I'll still keep it as I think it'll help battery life not clinging to a patchy signal all the time.
VoLTE not working, but behaving differently (when forced to LTE-only via the debug menu). Where before it'd drop the call right away, now the call sits there in silence. Interesting... E: Hmm, when Wifi Calling is switched on, it seems to drop off the Signal Box and stick to the outside signal, going by the signal indicator which instantly drops to 1 bar. Maybe there is no benefit to keeping it after all. I don't know if it's a graphical glitch though, as LTE Discovery still shows -67 dBm. |

Samsung is slow as hell as it is, now you have to wait for EE to taint it. |

Can confirm that EE 800MHZ is on Serving Layer Priority = 4
https://flic.kr/p/EFVt7b Need to double check that VoLTE is active on it but I don't think it is. Which is very very weird The 2 cells I have connected to have Cell Identities of 5207052 and 5207053 so guessing they are coming from the same mast. However I connected to these masts over 6km away from each other! |
