4636 doesn't work on the Galaxy S4. Tried it and it won't work.

However, I have got an app called "Phone Testing", which is a shortcut to the 4636 menu.

I think the one I have is this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...phone&hl=en_GB

Should work on Samsungs

3CA is still classed as 4G+ as far as I'm aware so they may just leave it at that. Especially given that most areas where it will be deployed are high load areas where 3CA performance won't be much higher than 2CA in other areas.

I don't know whether they have access or not but they aren't using it for Cat.9.

Long time over due too. EE the best network for me, but only just. Massive lack of sites, but the National park hasn't helped in the past refusing a large number of applications.

EE doesn't like saying anything more than 4G so the only way to know will be using various apps, and speed tests.

Cat 9 is still just 50Mbps up isn't it? I'm trying to get a Netgear portable hotspot that has Cat 11 as that's 100Mbps up, although no idea when any network will support that.

I have an app called Network Mode that does the same thing. As it just redirects to the phone's menu, I was wondering if there was a code (that worked on the S7) that I could use instead of the app?

Anyone know if the MBNL 'Dorset' cabs are 4g? An old orange monopole that hasn't been in use for many years has just received one of these shiny new cabs and is now broadcasting 3G on 234-33. The cab is marked with the orange pcs label but also says mbnl v1 on the Dorset label.

True Cat 11 would only be 50Mbps up and 600 down. However for the latest releases, the new way of quoting devices capabilities is to split the uplink and downlink category so they are independent of each other. So now you might, for example, see the downlink quoted as Cat 12 (600) and the uplink quoted as Cat 13 (150) whereas previously Cat 12 would have implied 600/100 and Cat 13 390/150 (approx).

I just wondered if they still have it.

Which I think is fair enough! I for one am in favour of restricting developments in national parks further. But at the same time I understand that or landmass is small compared to other countries so we have to be realistic!

I think they need to force EE to be creative with the transmitters in national parks then as a compromise. In California I saw transmitters disguised as all sorts, very good they were too!

Orange was the first UK operator in the mid 1990s to use a cell site that looked like a tree. A tree that wasn't native to the UK, but still a tree.

EE's relationship with HTC must be great, selling phones that don't exist.

OK, why doesn't my 4G work on EE? Brand new SE from EE on contract. 2G / wifi calling working fine. Not sure I've even seen 3G yet as haven't been out much. When I get 4G no data. Good signal on the phone (Totnes last night) but nothing coming through. 4G is on and set to Voice and Data. Can't do iMessage and FB and Twitter were not updating. Annoyingly I didn't turn 4G off to see if 3G is working. On 4G everything was just timing out.

Any ideas? What haven't I set up right or maybe a network fault last night? I expect it's my fault.

Could have been a fault in Town. I didn't check it yesterday when I was there. Been off a couple times in the last few months while upgrades going on.
Also soft reset the phone just in case.

I haven't got a case. Will it still work out of case? Boom boom. Will try 3G in a minute.

3G working OK off a different mast. Must have been an issue in Totnes last night.

Like this: https://goo.gl/maps/Pex3ubqkL8L2

I believe they were by Nokia and designed around the Finland pine tree. It stands out a lot more in reality than it does in street view!

No, the first was a north American tree design. In Cumbria.

But there is a standard mast next to it. Or am I missing something.

Anyway, the tree mast on the Totnes to Avonwick road was a nice try and fits into the landscape for about 22.5 minutes in every leap year as long there is a full moon and Val Doonican is No.1 in the charts.

Otherwise it looks like a giant fake Christmas tree but not as good.

Better luck next time.

Should get a 3900a for EE 2G/4G soon. Dorset is usually MBNL 3G/backhaul

Both UK Broadband and Telefonica disagreed with the findings, suggesting that there could be room for Band 31 LTE in the 450MHz band in the UK, just not necessarily for handsets but for M2M and rural broadband connections.

Now back to EE...
