Not according to EE

http://ee.co.uk/help/phones-and-device/4g-calling

Where would you even get EE firmware for a OnePlus?
I'm not sure I'd necessarily consider that article to be the only definitive source of information.

It's worth pointing out that it isn't unknown for VoLTE to work on unapproved devices, e.g. the unbranded S7 edge which works on 3's VoLTE (you do not need the 3 firmware installed, or to buy the phone from 3)

I'm surprised that they haven't updated the EE page to include the iPhone 7/7+ yet...

BeansOntoast- No the old Orange mast in Market Harborough has still not been upgraded although the cabinets did get replaced a few weeks ago so data is still not worth it.

It's the same with the main town centre mast behind Sainsburys still an old Orange mast.

They have upgraded a few masts round here more on the outskirts and another by the McDonalds on ring road being done next week.

OP3 supports VoLTE, but EE don't support it on that handset.

VoLTE works on BTU roms on the S7 and some other non-EE branded handsets, so there's no reason it wouldn't work on the OP3, we just need EE to enable / support it their end.

Don't know... I sent him a message ages ago and no response yet!

Anyhoo... I've looked on My EE and the bill is indeed coming through at £19.99. Thank goodness for that! I was worried it'd be £34.99!

£19.99 is just the 3G price, £34.99 if you want 4G!

It is both rather unwise and unfair to point the blame at Beans for Bookey's quietness. Beans is not the only to presumably have asked 'when is x going to be fixed' questions and Beans is not the only one to repeatedly mention the same masts.

At the end of the day, would you rather he used his time trying to fix things or uses it to tell you he's fixing things.

True that. Beans, I'll lend you my Draper 'Expert' 13mm ratchet spanner if you need to go fix anything. Got a 10mm somewhere as well. I suppose with the wind loads they probably use 17mm. I'll get one ordered up.

Haha, what are you like?

I got the SIM when it was at £19.99 and includes 4G! Only reason why I'm using 3G at the moment is because this blasted S4 can't do 3G and 4G without dropping to 2G far too quickly!

The day that the LG G4 gets VoLTE is the day when I switch handsets - though if I get too fed up I might get a G4 (or G5) anyway, and hope it gets volte!

From memory, some use 21mm so one of these may be best. You can even attach it to a lanyard you so you don't drop it and take out a whale while fixing Aye Up's mast.

I think this might be the answer. Allow the public access to 'fix' any under-performing masts with any tools they have to hand. My favorite is a lump hammer. I reckon there are masts out there still doing 2G only after 20 years of 3G being available. Surely they are ripe for 'modification'?

Just tell the network, 'You do it or we will'. Power to the people as Wolfy would say.

Guilty here.
Marley Head this, Marley Head that.
You'd think that was the only mast they had!
Just realised why EE took longer to get to 98% than planned. Me asking too many questions.

I don't think it's unfair, assuming the hundreds of posts spread over the forum are representative of what he may have been subjected to. It's also not necessarily the direct messages that could have caused him to lose the will to visit - he's not the only one to have all but given up posting in recent months.

Similarly, I'm struggling to understand why it would be 'unwise'. Unless he's a covert ninja enforcer of course.

Guilty here.

Me too. However, neither you nor I feel the need to proffer our recommendations, observations and measurements on every-bloody-mast-we-pass.

Well, not all the time anyway.

On a more serious note, I have just been busy with work and life, so had to revert to taking a look at the forum less often.

Oh, and a bit of whale watching in the North East
