I have a mifi set to 800 only, and I can do a network scan and see that EE shows up in the list. Obviously I can't connect because it's not yet available for public use

I have EE SIMs, but none with any credit on them
Ahh I see. When did that start happening? i wonder if it's on mine. Don't think I can force my MiFi to 800 though.

It's been around for a few months here I think. I have a Netgear Aircard, and out of the box you can't set it to a specific LTE band (the only default option is LTE only which does 800/1800/2600 in sequence), but if you dig through the documentation and send the right AT commands to it, you can add them to the list. Then you can change between them using the normal web admin interface.

Interestingly, 3's 800 is the only one that shows up when I use the mifi on its own (which would make sense as I get all that superpumping BS if I check my coverage). I have to plug in an external antenna to get EE, Vodafone and O2's 800 to appear, so I'm not sure where their cell sites are

Wi-Fi Calling to 4G seems to be working everytime now in Stamford.

https://youtu.be/9-kQp5j4H0I

It won't step down to 3G though, the call will drop with "You've dialled an incorrect number" beep beep beep and you can't initiate calls on 4G.

Is there a reason you started out in airplane mode?

To make sure the call started via my router. Killed the power off it and it happily switched to 4G. Works fine in normal mode too.

I've just tried (without starting in airplane mode) and as soon as I switch off my router the call drops.

I'm told London is getting the VoLTE switch on and all will be completed by Thursday. Can't be too long until it's announced now.

Sounds promising, hopefully opening the door to 800MHz?

VO2 are certainly heading EE's way! http://www.4g.co.uk

That's only London completed by Thursday?

Looks like this is going to take months and months to fully roll out in the UK.

Having looked on that site, it's confirmed that Thrapston will finally see something other than 2G on CTIL... Too much 2G only on CTIL!

Hopefully EE and Three will also plonk some 4G in that area soon!

Bear in mind that the areas that have launched are in highly populated areas, so they are rolling out to a set amount of headcount etc. London done over three days because of the sheer size of the city. 33% one day, 33% the next etc etc

When it comes to less populated areas, the rollout area should be wider.....

Is there any reason why EE are being so secretive about the roll out? If I could at least see which areas are due to roll out with a rough estimate I'd feel a lot better.

I guess I'm just finding it slightly annoying that where I am has widespread 4G and yet my phone will still disconnect when I move out of range of the Wifi network I'm connected to, I'd rather not have to keep switching Wifi calling on and off, especially since where my girlfriend lives Wifi calling is very useful due to not very good signal indoors.

They probably won't announce it until at least 70%+ can get it. No point at the moment as it'll drive calls into CS that are unnecessary.

Has anything been mentioned about the calls on other devices feature of the iPhone, specifically when the device is remote (i.e., not on the same wifi network)?

AT&T are making great use of the feature and are now allowing calls when the customer's iPhone is turned off. Any idea if/when EE will launch this?
The option seems to have been removed from the menu in 9.3..

AT&T are now also letting it's customers with iOS 9.3 use wifi calling abroad and calls they make back to USA will count as included in their contract rather than pay foreign call rates that get charged normally.

Any estimate of what % complete we are at so far?

Given that EE had it removed in the latest carrier update it isn't looking likely that they will support that feature which is a shame, EE support pretty much all the other Apple specific features.

VoLTE was working at NEC Birmingham yesterday and intermittently in north Leeds, I suspect one of my local mast has it switched on and the other doesn't, depending which one my Iphone is using?

I would love EE to implement this feature as it would save me messing around with topping up a Three SIM and forwarding my EE number to it for the periods of time I'm in the US.

Yes I'd still have the data issue but most of the time I'm in the office or hotel with wifi and in any case, the Three 'Feel at home' data rates are pretty poor.

Noticed the Sensorly app has started to allow mapping of 4G+/LTE-A areas. Only on certain Sony & LG phones at the moment though.

None showing up in the UK.. Not sure if anyone has mapped it though. France has quite a bit.

Anyone able to try?

That isn't going to happen anytime soon....
