Noticed the Sensorly app has started to allow mapping of 4G+/LTE-A areas. Only on certain Sony & LG phones at the moment though.
None showing up in the UK.. Not sure if anyone has mapped it though. France has quite a bit.
Anyone able to try?
Also nperf has a mapping of 4G+ areas too quite larger then Sensorly

I agree, it won't happen this year.

Sensorly isn't to be trusted in any way - I can cheerfully get it to log EE 4G coverage as O2 coverage using my dual SIM phone. I discovered this accidentally when trying to figure out how O2 had managed to gain a big blob of 4G in an area they only cover with 2G...

It also likes to log 4G samples randomly after I switch off wifi - even in areas without a sniff of 4G coverage.

It's lost all credibility in my eyes.

It could be the fact they are not setup for dual sim use...

Of course, but it should throw up an error on incompatible devices (eg. dual SIM), not allow people to cheerfully log coverage incorrectly.

If you wanted to you could totally undermine the data validity by deliberately allowing coverage to be logged against the wrong operator.

I'm open to offers from O2 to carry on logging EE 4G coverage as O2's...

His anyone seen EE Annual Network Update Plans Spreadsheet before? They basically list every mast in an area. Also shows which mast are still just EE and which ones are MBNL.

No. Where do you got those from?

Simply search for your council name, followed by "EE" "Annual Network Update Plans Spreadsheet"

If you dig in the site scripts, it states which devices are "volte":"Yes", the S6 is listed for example.
LG G4 is No
iPhone 6S is yes 9 as expected
http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...postcount=9145

Could you explain how to view said EE site scripts, please?

Visiting http://shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-phones/p...3A4G%20Calling or http://shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-phones/p...atures%3AVoLTE doesn't return any results.

Right-clicking the following pages in Google Chrome, selecting 'View Page Source' and searching for "4G Calling" or "VoLTE" doesn't return any results either, nor does Googling for them with site:shop.ee.co.uk

http://shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-phones/p...pphire/details

http://shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-phones/p...-black/details

http://shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-phones/p...e-grey/details

Thanks.

Let's remember that VoLTE hasn't officially launched. ... EE hasn't... told any customers.
iOS 9.3 brings with it EE 24.0 Carrier File
VoLTE is now live for all, even if the areas are quite limited and there's no official launch to promote it, so it can't be disabled now.
I think this is official confirmation of sorts:

"EE @EE
The iPhone SE will support our WiFi Calling and 4G Calling (aka VoLTE) too! Get updates by registering at http://ee.co.uk/iPhoneSE now.
5:59 PM - 21 Mar 2016"

https://twitter.com/EE/status/711975585585700864

"EE @EE
@aftabxt Good morning, VoLTE is currently being rolled out on a geographic basis; the service is currently available in the following areas: -Hatfield -Bristol -Birmingham -Manchester -Belfast -Edinburgh
10:38 AM - 22 Mar 2016"

I have been doing quite a bit of testing today while out and about this in non native VOLTE areas the handover from Wifi calling to 4G seems to work very well so far with just one O2 hotspot struggling a bit with the handoff. I think it was the Cloud in a shopping centre had a couple of second delay as well.

All networks seem to be ok at handing back onto wifi mid call very good so far.

Does anyone know about EE project Darwin? I've heard rumors of its existence for 4G upgrades and there's a logon page.

I've heard if you have Android and tap the battery meter 12 times it says the battery is running at 800 voltes

It's an easter egg, you see?

... I'll get my coat.

Shame it doesn't do the signal testing constantly, like sensorly or Rootmetric though

I've just looked at the TPO website and they are now offering 4G, using EE.

Wasn't they supposed to be moving over to 3 by months end?

Use the coverage checker to view device support. Stick your postcode and device in, click 'check coverage'. Then go into your browser's developer tools, 'resources', 'frames', 'mobile-coverage', 'scripts', click 'check coverage' again, then browse through the 'all' scripts till you find one which has the device in, usually second 'all' from the bottom of the 'all's

Seriously considering a switch away from Windows Phone, much as I love it. Rather taken with the RugGear tough android phones at the minute. The Lumia 1020 is really starting to get out of date and there's toss all from Microsoft to replace it. Wonder if RugGear will ever be VoLTE compatible. I'm guessing not.

Also dare I ask if the coverage map has been updated since I last poked my nose in.... *hides*

If the last time you visited was more than 1 week ago, then yes it's been updated (think it was updated on Monday!)

On another note altogether, is the general consensus amongst forum users that EE are unlikely to run another Summer/Christmas 100GB SIM offer now?

I guess if they were using it to test network resilience they'll have achieved their objective now, and with BT overseeing the purse strings such promotions might be taboo...
