Yes but very slowly. VoLTE not required.
Ok, I've totally lost it now. I knew that as well.
I'll just stop posting. Be better for everyone....

Any. They all use 800mhz.

Just seen in Leicester City Center's EE store that they are doing a special deal on the 16GB SIM Only deal - £19.99 instead of £35 for 12 months.

U/L Mins and texts (so matching the Virgin VIP SIM) and 16GB 4G (that's over 4x the amount Virgin offer on their VIP SIM) for £20 pm. Not bad at all!

EE's 3G is pretty good, but their 4G is amazing where there is 4G coverage. And EE's 4G is expanding to more places all the time.

Alright, I'll be losing my 0845/0870 calls (but I don't much of those anyway) - but I'll be gaining a much better data experience that will actually allow me to upload videos - and use lots of 3G/4G data!

Methinks it may be worth PAC'ing over from Virgin to EE!

All networks use 800MHz but O2/Voda are more likely as CTIL (Voda/O2) 4G base layer is 800MHz, whereas EE/3 4G base layer is 1800MHz, with 800 for areas hard to cover with 1800.

So whilst we're still waiting for VoLTE to fully roll out and become available, it looks like T-Mobile in the US are already advancing things.

Interesting that they use VoLTE rather than some silly name like 'super voice'.

I think British firms like to assume the population are idiots. They probably aren't totally wrong, but still.

Look at how an obscure term like "fibre optic broadband" is used in preference to clear terms like fibre to the cabinet/fibre to the home or VDSL/DOCSIS/GPON

Or how a basic telephone line is referred to as "calls". You buy "calls and broadband", not "broadband and phone" anymore

Haha, why did Three invent that name? Why couldn't they have called it VoLTE?

The thing being that people that aren't tech savvy might get confused that 4G800 "Supervoice" can only be used for calls, when in fact it can be used for calls, texts and data!

Whoopsies!

I probably did mention it if it was posted on here when it first came out... but seeing it advertised in Leicester made me remember it...

I might just go for it and ditch Virgin, I'll lose my 08's but will get more data and faster data. Including official tethering support.

Who knows, I might just decide (in the next 7 days) to tether as much as humanly possible out of the Virgin SIM, then cancel it, get a PAC and get the 16GB deal on EE!

I'm with EE and was considering renewing to that £19.99 a month for 16GB data but was a little disppointed that an existing customer got the same deal as a new sign up. I requested my PAC and the next day they called and offered me 18GB data and UL voice & txt for £15.99 a month which I accepted. It's a £25.99 10GB tariff with a £10 permanent discount and 8GB free add on. Clearly retentions can offer these non standard deals to keep you on board.

Anyway, it's better than the 2GB for £16.50 I was paying and my village has just been updated to 4G and was giving me 95mbps/20

This speed is probably been seen loads of times but it's the best I've seen since getting an EE account.

I've still not topped 100 Meg! Maybe it's my old Lumia that can't quite do it any more.... even though it technically can..

Anything over 100 is good, since they lifted the bar from 100 to 150.

I got this earlier: https://twitter.com/jmcomms/status/7...660844544?s=09

I've had slightly higher but 100+ is still fairly rare.

Best I've managed was somewhere around 90 meg. I was a passenger in a car on the motorway at the time, which makes that speed even more impressive.

Just hit 144 down on a bus going through Camden. Insane. Three times faster than my home broadband and 70 likes faster than my parents!

Just need to reach the magic 150 now! Of course, you'll use up your data allowance in no time if you're using the Ookla app, as the data transferred increases considerably at such speeds.

My best, on one of the 100GB SIMs, was around 140, which is my best. One day I'll get to 150, and then hopefully they'll lift the bar even higher.

If I had a bigger allowance I would be in this race as well, on the few tests I have tried I think the best score I have got was around 95. But it is still much faster than I had even seen when I was with three.

Trouble is around me, every day speeds aren't anywhere near the fastest. I have to go further afield! BT have made no effort with Fibre around here, and I think alot of people are using EE4G as their main broadband link or just not using WiFi on their phones (I do both!) which is putting a decent load on the network. Just done a test and got 9 down and 4 up, and it's slower than that during the week. Still quick enough for use out and about though

BT did the whole town but missed a couple of cabinets, of which one was mine. I therefore get 6-7.5Mbps and a pathetic uplink speed of 0.75-1.5Mbps.

When the cabinet is finally done, and it's close enough that I should get close to 70-75Mbps from estimates, or whatever speed is offered then, I guess I won't need to use 4G so much at home.

So just upgraded to the special offer of £19.99 for 16gb and took anarroonal line out at £16.49, I thought what a cracking offer. Thing is the store 'forgot' to apply to discount and bylines are showing at full price of £34.99 and apparently the Eurodata add-on isn't compatible with this plan and it's been escalated to technical.

Can anyone on this plan check if the data add-on is a led to be applied to their account please? 'Eurodata' to 150

Do you mean the Euro Data Pass? The EE website is a mess when it comes to finding out information, but isn't it £4 for normal plans and £3 for EE Extra plans? As such, I'd be very disappointed to learn you can't have it on the discounted deal, as it's still advertised as EE Extra.

I've tried sending the code to 150 and not had any response positive or negative yet. The website says it could take 24 hours, but surely you'd get some acknowledgement?!

I do wish EE would just let you use your allowance, and not speed cap after a rather pathetic 100MB. Vodafone is leagues ahead on this.

EDIT: Bad news, it says it isn't available on this plan.

https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...tRc3pKN1hiazVn

This better be fixed as you can't sell a plan with a discount and then change the conditions surely? If this plan hasn't got the same features, it's not the same plan!

PS. Who told you it isn't available? It wasn't mentioned in anything I saw online and wasn't mentioned to me in store.
