It's good ay! When you zoom out you think "Do they have any masts that don't have a fault!"

The Checker is quite flawed as sometimes it will show an area which may not have a mast in and therefore say you have no problems even though your serving mast may have a problem but it is outside the range of the map.

Kind of gives away a lot of mast locations

Argh! I can't get it to work at all. Are you guys using Chrome or another browser?

EDIT: Ah, got it!

Seems to me that LA12 7LH (replica flagpole site) may have been upgraded... now getting full 4G there instead of reverting to 3G when stood next to it. Good news! Wonder if it'll have 800 too - old town, lots of thick brick buildings.

Can someone who's got it working give a few more instructions on how to zoom out and see the mast locations?

What browsers work?
When the original instructions say "select some text on the left" what does this refer to - when I search for a place on the network status checker it just shows the map with text above it...

Or can someone look up Chew Magna in Somerset and then zoom out a bit and post an image of the mast status around there?

Thanks!

What browsers work? - Chrome, not sure about others
When the original instructions say "select some text on the left" what does this refer to - when I search for a place on the network status checker it just shows the map with text above it... - The text either gives instructions on what to do (no reported problems) or details of the fault. Just highlight it, click away from it then 'highlight' the map (just click and drag the map), then use + and - (or 0) to zoom in and out and use arrow buttons to move around map.

Or can someone look up Chew Magna in Somerset and then zoom out a bit and post an image of the mast status around there? http://imgur.com/1kWpF5K

Thanks!

I just used that method and discovered a fault at the mast serving my area. Hadn't noticed anything wrong. Mind you, it was last updated at 19:49 today..

That last updated time is useless really. When they were trialing it they had first reported. It must of been a bit embarrassing for them so changed it to last updated

Yea sometimes it will work without you having to do any fancy stuff but most of time you have to fiddle around with it

Those instructions worked fine - thanks! Any idea what the difference between red and purple icons means?

It explains them at the bottom of the page:

Red: Fault
Purple: Fixed Fault
Yellow: Upgrading site, maybe disruption to service

Notice orange finally showing on roadworks for doing base station foundations of an old site in Staffordshire.

This is a shock move forward.

Have EE tweaked when a phone will connect to Wifi Calling? My phone has been connected to VoLTE for most of the night, VoLTE is working great, but my phone won't connect to Wifi Calling when it normally would be?

Maybe they tweaked Wifi Calling so it's only used in a low signal or non VoLTE area?

Mine seems slower switching to wifi calling.

Still cuts out for me on the 5X when going from place to place for a day, and won't work until a reboot. Don't know if it's an EE implementation thing or an Android bug though (probably the latter - it has a few)

Wifi calling is working perfectly on my 6S Plus but VoLTE works one day then not the next.

My phone connects to wifi calling quickly when there's no or a poor 4G signal. When there's VoLTE available it seems to prefer using that and not using wifi calling.

There is a couple of orange monopoles getting upgrade in Shropshire too, good that EE is finally moving on these as they are getting serious cornstone competition in some areas.
Is 800mhz live across EE yet?

Well we have 4G at Balmoral castle now. Only showing as 1800 even though it's in the middle of the highlands. Will 800 be put on at a later date do you think? Or are lots of masts ready and enabled, just not switched on??

Also no 3G on this mast which was one of the few T-Mobile masts that never joined MBNL so 3 never had access any way. Is this normal to then not add 3G on an EE only mast after an upgrade?

I believe 4G is added by the 'EE team' and 3G added by MBNL. There are done seperately.

800 could be installed at that location just waiting to be switched on.

Yes, 3G is added on separately, though I don't know why EE would not put 3G on an old site that has been upgraded. People with 3G phones won't notice an improvement, and 3G is still going to be staying for a fair few years.

VoLTE on all sites north of Stamford to Grantham along the A1. Nothing though in Peterborough or Market Deeping. Men up the mast working on the EE site on the A1 at Woolfox. New panels going in so 4G arriving here soon.
