Yea sometimes it will work without you having to do any fancy stuff but most of time you have to fiddle around with it
You can also pan around with the arrow keys on the keyboard.

The mast I passed today that was offline for work didn't show up on the status checker.

Hi

Good to see Belfast on the list Im guessing 4G Calling is EE's term for VoLTE?

I wonder when they will announce the rollout of 800MHz?

I wonder if that is definitive, or similar to 3's "list of cities" for anything 4G.

I'm happily using VoLTE on 800 on 3, but according to their list nowhere within 120 miles of me has it officially.

I can certainly pick up EE on 800 here but I have neither a SIM or an approved phone to test.

Another thing page says. VoLTE to VoLTE calls will have to international dialling tone like WiFi Calling. I thought they would of been able to change this by now.

It's not definitive, they are a few masts in Herefordshire that have VoLTE fully switched on now for a couple of weeks.

EE is aiming to bring 4G to 95% of the UK landmass by 2020 (government's target for operators is to provide voice and text coverage to only 90% of UK landmass by the end of 2017) as well as relocating its customer services to the UK and Ireland.

http://ee.co.uk/our-company/newsroom...ge_to_95_of_UK

Article states 4G Calling (VoLTE) will be rolled out everywhere by July.

HI

Good news to read this I wonder when the rollout is complete in July 2016 will it then have the power turn up?

Can we expect any kind of announcement on 800MHz this summer?

Thanks

Baz

4000 sites with 800MHz by 2020. Presume much of Scotland will consist of that.

I saw on a news article today that BT had rolled out fibre to the Scilly Isles.... I immediately thought it wouldn't be long before we rolled out 4G there as the area has always been 2G only. Didn't realise we'd be that on the ball to be switching it on today!

Hi

Will EE be setting 800Mhz at the same priority as Three?

Thanks

I'm surprised EE has 4G only areas as per that press release, that means people without VoLTE capable phone can't make calls in those areas?

Because it will be 4G 800mhz which will travel further than 1800mhz 2G and 2100mhz 3G.

It will ultimately be restricted to VOLTE (4G voice) capable devices only.

I'm guessing this aim isn't out of the goodness of EE/BT's heart, or a desire to service us bumpkins, but an SLA in the new bluelight contract.

There's nothing to say EE couldn't offer an equivalent to inTouch for existing phone users if it wanted to. In fact, it would make sense to do just that (but before anyone wonders if I know something, I am purely speculating off my own back here).

Three's app is just a rebadged app from a company providing solutions to anyone that wants it.

By 2020, there won't likely be that many people with a phone that doesn't have VoLTE support natively OR couldn't run an app that routes calls over 4G.

I would hope they wouldn't waste their time on that to be honest. I can't use 3 TinT to make 4G calls on my current phone so will look to change soon. The way the coverage is unfolding, I may wait a while for iPhone 7, see how it looks and how the field looks then. Maybe stay PAYG, maybe go Sim Only. Will see what VOD have achieved by Autumn down here and also if EE are looking to put 800 on our mast or not. I think if you have an older device, you just have to accept that some stuff won't work on it. At the end of the day there is probably a budget Android device you can buy outright which will work (Moto G, second hand Nexus or similar). So, I don't believe the networks should spend time pandering to those of us on older or incompatible tech.

Further to this question and this mornings announcement, is 800 available on pay and go? I'm using a pay and go sim to try out the network before jumping ship. One question was answered this morning regarding VoLTE only being avaliable on pay monthly or business, would one assume this applies to 800 too?

Think the Cornwall BUK Project had that sorted last year.

You will need VoLTE to make any kind of call over 4G, whatever the frequency. So if VoLTE is not allowed on PAYG then 800 will only be for data and the phone will drop to 2/3G for calls as it does with 1800 4G. 800 might not even work at all, someone who actually knows what they are talking about will confirm.

I know this, sorry I should have made myself a little more clear I'm trying to determine if 800 is in my area as 4G1800 indoors is none existent. I have the iPhone 6s Plus, so I know it works. I'm trying to work out if 800 is only avaliable on pay monthly because I could be sat on a good 4G signal and not know it if 800 is only restricted to pay monthly, I'm testing the network with a pay and go before leaving Vodafone.

2014 (and it's not a BDUK project, the Cornish rural broadband project is independent of that - but that's just petty pedantry)
